I’ve been critical of him in the past. But…

JV and Trey- great fricking deal. Upgrade at center and Trey was a great pick at an area of need after trading down.

CJ and Nance deal hit our needs perfectly. Can’t believe Portland just threw in Nance like he wasn’t worth anything on his own.

Snagging Herb and Alvarado outside of the 1st Round. Good shite. These guys look like rotation players for years to come, and haven’t been scared at all of the bright lights.

Well fricking done, you beautiful bald bastard

You missed the foresight of knowing the lakers FO would f it up in a few years a least. The melt of the media and lakers fans will be biblical if the lakers pick lands #1

If by "rotation player" you mean "starter and cumslinger", then agreed.

Well we just gave up #15 for devontae Graham while getting only a 2nd for Ball…..

Graham would have been what, the 4th pg on the hornets?

Wouldn’t be tooting his horn right now. He’s had major luck this year.

Nance was injured at the time and we used the TPE from the Lonzo trade to get him.

They looked at it as dumping about $20m in salary across two seasons for free, which was a big deal for a team disassembling an expensive roster.

We have a real team culture now, and that's a beautiful thing.

Griff struck out a few times, but when you hit homeruns on Willie Green, the 17th and 35th picks, get an undrafted stud, and then trade for a true team leader at the deadline, it more than makes up for a few mistakes.

Griff did a phenomenal job.

How about trading pick 15 for Graham? Absolutely disgusting

It's more fun when thinking about how the Blazers don't get our first round pick this season partially because the gave up Nance.

I really think he’s lucked into a lot of things. He’s definitely squandered a lot of our assets to acquire questionable pieces. Hiring Ron Jeremy last year was a disaster. His handling of Zion was a disaster. If it wasn’t for Willie ( I know he hired him), this franchise would likely be failing still. Willie installed this culture where the guys have flourished and Zion bought in. Griff is still average at best.

You make a lot of your own luck in this business.

Dell Demps got unlucky when Boogie got hurt. Luck is part of the game.

Without Graham and his gane winning shots, Pels miss the play in tournament and probably don't even get the Lakers pick.

GTFOH with that bullshite.

If he was putting the first on the table for the hornets, it should have had better protections. I wouldn’t have done it myself, but should have been at least top 20 protected for this reason, sneaking in as a 7th or 8 seed and giving them a great pick for an at best backup pg. Crazy.

So he hit on 4/5 trades/picks this offseason.

I'll take it.

An average guy wouldn’t have been able to put this roster together the way he has. Call it luck or whatever you want but you can’t sit there and say any GM in the league could have done what he was able to accomplish. That’s disingenuous.

And regardless the pick would have gone to Portland.

He traded a 1st and 2 2nds to get Val, Nance and Graham, that's a great fricking trade no matter how you try to slice it.

I mean at what point could you ever give someone credit if you can't give credit for what he did this year?
