Bingo!

This is something I’ve never understood and also reference to the ‘can’t help who his son supports comment’ … you absolutely can.
I enjoyed sports, parents took me to see the local team, bought me the shirt…that was enough to build the relationship for life, win or lose… mainly lose.

There can’t be any, or absolutely as much enjoyment, if your home town team wins something as opposed to the team you’ve picked for no reason than you like the player at the time.

My sports teams have never won anything so never experienced the enjoyment yet…hopefully this season though. Have picked up The Saints this relationship too, post 2007 though, been to both London games.

I absolutely, however, see the irony in that at some point back in the 90s I picked a basketball team to follow…
I have a good excuse in that there’s no NBA here… clearly.

To answer your other question… 90s… bogues, LJ, Zo… good marketing. Followed ever since and came over when the franchise moved to NOLA… have been to NOLA 3 times and coming back in March…love the city.

Just take your son to a gay bar instead of the game ... that is where this is headed anyway

My son doesn’t really care about the Pelicans for whatever reason. His two favorite players are Steph Curry and Devin Booker. After getting his hopes high thinking he was going to see Curry and the starters rested both times, I don’t think he is a Warriors fan anymore lol. Now, he is only a Suns fan.

Bring him to the Suns game and when we whip their asses hopefully he comes to his senses.

What the problem then? Hopefully Booker sits too so maybe your son will figure out to root for the good guys!

This Pels team is so likeable especially when you see them in person. I’m not just talking about the stars. Jonas, Trey, Herb, Jose, Dyson, Nance, and even Naji are fun to root for bc of how hard they play and play with so much energy.

I mean how often do you hear an entire arena chanting the name of a reserve PG.

One of my most treasured experiences was sitting in Tiger Stadium in 1993 for every minute of the 58-3 whipping that Steve Spurrier put in on us.

I soaked in every bit of that humiliation, and it made watching the 1997 game so much sweeter -- my favorite sports experience of all time was being in Tiger Stadium for that win over #1 Florida when we got our revenge.

Masochists for picking the Pels to be a fan off too.

I texted CP3, will keep you posted.

CP3 has a lot on his plate right now, I'm not sure he'll get back to me.

Really? Your post history seems to suggest otherwise.

Why can’t y’all raise your damn kids to be Pelicans fans?

Where did he say his kid isn't a Pels fan? I take my son to a bunch of games, and he knows every player on the Pels roster. He still gets excited when the visiting team has star players that he doesn't get to see much. He yells the whole game for the Pels to win though.

My son wants to see the Suns when they come next week. They play Friday night and two days later on Sunday. Sunday would be the best option but I already got burned spending a lot of money on Golden State tickets for his birthday and with this new age of basketball, I don’t know if the Suns starters will sit out either game or not.

Just to give serious response to a terrible question. Why would they not play, it's not a back to back and neither team plays on Thursday.
