There's nothing wrong with hating him for being a poor value. Contracts have consequences.

Apparently, there is literally nothing Gordon can do that would keep some people from criticizing him. Personally, I think the guy is psyched about Gentry coaching the team.

:kige:

I was a Gordon hater for a while, but he was good last season. I'd be pumped if he replicated his stats but played more games this upcoming season.

He will be playing for that next contract, wherever that may be. Great news.

No surprise here. Hopefully he stays healthy up to the deadline so that Dealin' Dell can do work.

Actually, read what you wrote. Yes, there is.

No way. I'd take his one dimensional offense. But he graded out as the 8th best defender on our team last season (in DWS @ .7). That's on the 22nd ranked defense. This was expected, but bad for us. And I'm not some huge anti-EG guy. Even if he drops to around ~38% from 3, I expect him to start getting some more foul calls and get to the rim better, leading to his best NOLA season. But he won't come close to being worth his salary. And his opting out + letting Asik (whom I'd also like to have back) walk would give us tons of flexibility.

Eric Gordon at $10 or Anthony Morrow at $3.5? I take Morrow easily. I don't think people realize just how "bad" last year was for Gordon because from our perspective it was an up year.

His usage was way down and he only averaged 14.6 points per 36 minutes. His career per 36 is 17.8 and he had 3 years of 20+ He's gone from scorer to role player.

You know the best thing about Gordon eventually leaving or not being re-signed? Not the cap space. It's not having to listen to all the whiney babies bitching and moaning.

Love complaining about a guy that was a top 3 three point shooter last year while rehabbing his knee and playing with a bum shoulder.

Of course the price isn't right. We paid for the clippers EG and got a guy that's been hurt since game 1.

Let him come back next year for his official first year healthy with a full offseason of workouts. I want him to succeed because that means we succeed.

We have several players that can go for 25+ a night.

AD
Ryno
Reke
EG
Jrue

And all five of those guys on the court at the same time in this new pace and space system that Dell wants to run is going to be at the very least exciting because we have Anthony fricking Davis.

Let's do this shite. WHY ISNT IT OCTOBER YET

If we don't want him, we don't have to "get rid of" him. I think we end up offering him a one year, overpriced deal. Same as we did with Kaman. It would be a good decision, giving us some options next season.

Why would we give Asik a 1 year deal? There are more FA centers this year than next. I'd like to the guy who will be sticking around the next four to five years. I don't think Asik is that guy.

Gentry was still the head coach when EG's heart was in Phoenix, so I'm sure he's excited about this upcoming season.

Because cap space. Without a significant trade that frees up cap space our choices are Asik, minimum level center (Stiemsma), or using the MLE to replace Asik with someone like Biyombo rather than adding additional talent to the team.

Asik is really our only choice this year but if you don't think he's a good fit then don't give him a long term deal.
