re: Gordon officially opts IN to another season w/ Pels

Gordon has averaged about 43 games played per year as a Pelican over a 4 year period. This is not a small sample set.
His contract is what it is, and it is roundly thought to be one of the worst in the NBA.
Great three point shooter last year, though.
If I "irrationally dislike" Gordon, so be it.
I just hope he stays healthy next year. After that, he is somebody else's issue.

the sunshine pumping has reached full potential. tigerinatl had to resort to being a negapel just to combat it

You forgot to say EG will get 15 million a year. + little to no Defense, no explosion, and he can not put the ball on the floor without a turn over or a bad shot. But sure 44% is all that matters in ur eyes.

The real question is if you swap out JR Smith for Gordon in the Finals do the Cavs win?

Some of this is erroneous
He was more explosive this year than the last 2 years. Another good offseason can only help.
His TO rate wasn't bad at all

A year ago likely so but not now.
Joe Johnson is making 25 mil at 33
Gerald wallace is making 10.1 mil for ZERO production.

Those guys aren't 25 year old and in their prime. Nor were they the cornerstone piece in a trade involving a franchise player/one of the top players in the league
Gordon not being who we thought he was going to be set this franchise back 3 years. To pay an injured role player what we are paying him certainly makes his contract one of, if not the worst, in the league.
It's ok to support him and hope he does wel, but there is not doubt his contract is horrible and he has hurt us in the past way more than he has helped. Looking forward, we can only hope for the best

I get that gyno but at least he's not taking up money for zero production. Some are ignoring that he chose NOT to have surgery and come back(and did well).
I've done my share of EG bashing in the past but it's really time to leave it in the past tbh. I'm personally sick of the pessimism around this franchise and hopefully monday will be a fresh start.
I think he'll do very very well in gentry's offense(if he stays past the summer). Guy is committed/excited and we should support him.

Everyone wants him to be healthy and do well. Would be awesome if, for once in 5 damn years, he earned his money.

No. Klay took EG to the woodshed in our series.

Not the point I was making, everyone realizes he wasn't great around the rim but you keep beating a dead horse.
I was talking about how he looked in terms of health in the most troubled area he had in the past. That shoulder injury was terrible luck but it MAY have been a blessing in disguise.

You've sort of making some of that stuff up.
My bottom line is this. A young guy who was part of a patchwork move engineered by the NBA ends up in N.O. on a team, to put it mildly, in flux with an uncertain future. He is a RFA and decides he'd rather play in Phoenix. N.O. decides to match the Phoenix offer. Gordon has to play for N.O. He's a kid and makes a couple of, frankly, innocuous comments. Big fricking deal.
Then he deals with what turns out to be a legitimate injury for the next couple of years. It appears now that it's behind him, but he hasn't yet shown he's able to be the guy the FO thought they were getting when they signed him. But, certainly during most of last season, he looked pretty damned good. If you use combined stats for his entire time in N.O. to match against salary, you're engaging in a fairly meaningless exercise. Nothing more than message board masturbation.

How can you say he set the franchise back 3 years when without his injury the pels don't have Anthony Davis? Honestly, his suckage propelled the franchise to a place it never could have gotten otherwise.
