Seriously, if Oladipo is so great, then why are guys like Burke, McLemore, and Porter all projected to be picked before him? Why are you the only one that sees the young Dwyane Wade in this draft? I would be very upset if Demps traded Gordon, Lopez, and a 2nd round pick to go after him.

What I'm sure of is that he'd be happy, cooperative, healthy, cheap, and an integral part of young core for years: everyone's lowest floors say a more athletic tony allen. Magic johnson said a jordan/wade mix. Chad ford said he's very similar to wade. I don't think he is but that's what everyone else is saying. We'd have cap space to then sign an al jefferson or pek as well as put together a good bench and totally eliminate all the gordon drama.

Ok, that's fine then. I don't watch college ball but I've read enough here on him to feel that he won't be a piece to build around. If he really was anywhere near as good as the players he's being compared to then he'd currently be the consensus #1 pick. I hope he pans out if he becomes a Pelican, though.

I don't think it's about whether Oladipo is so great, it's about whether taking a risk on Oladipo and his undeniable talent is worth saving ~$10m/yr over the next 2 or 3 years vs. Gordon, his proven talent, and his oft injured labia.

If we can somehow get #5 for EG and have #6 it would nice to add two young "potential stars" around AD. Then next years draft is one of the most loaded drafts in a long time. We would/should get the final remaining piece to have a young talented nucleus like OKC did. It takes draft picks to build a small market franchise like NO. We aren't luring any big FA unless we have a great talent to build around.

EG is a bum, and he will never do great things in NO because he doesn't want to be here. I would be happy to get #5 for that baby.

We will suck regardless with him and #6. It's time to make the move before AD decides to pull a CP3

This is laughable.

IMO you could barely get a 2nd round pick for EG right now.

Lulz. The Suns would much rather have Eric Gordon than the #5 pick in the worst draft ever.

Any chance the Orlando Magic take Victor Oladipo now that they have the 2nd pick?

Chad Ford (1:40 PM)
He's a possibility. We have them taking Trey Burke in our Mock primarily based on need. But I'm telling everyone that will listen -- Oladipo is the guy that GMs love in this draft. May be the only one. I've talked to 14 or 15 who tell me he's their favorite player. Almost zero downside and still significant upside. Not sure he's a fit in Cleveland or Washington -- but Orlando and Phoenix both look like strong fits. Burke may be a bigger need, but Oladipo might be the better player long-term.

ETA: He's in my top 4 for the Pelicans behind McLemore, Porter, and Burke. Not a fan of Noel, and don't want Bennett.

So trade away a potential all star for Trey Burke, a shorter version of Vasquez.
and do all of this for the very small chance we get Andrew Wiggins. No...

And no guarantee for burke to be at 5. He could be taken second by the magic. It wont happen. Really. I know this is just a hypothetical but there is literally no chance this happens

Dude we wouldn't trade EG for Burke. We would trade EG for #5 pick. My projection is Burke falls to #6. (the pick we already have). Then we have options at #5.

Cavs - Noel
Magic - BMac
Wizards - Oladipo
Hornets - Porter
Suns - trade # 5 to Pels for EG (options)
Pels - Burke

Also next year may be one of the most loaded drafts in a long time. Google it

How long do you want to suck?

I saw a kid, in the 2016 class, dunk in an all-star game on SC the other day... should they tank for him too? When does it end?

This franchise cant take 3 more years of being in the top end of the lottery... and Benson wont allow it. And Dell wont trade a "potential" all-star SG for the 5th pick in a weak arse draft

If Eric doesn't want to play, bench him 'til he changes his mind. The organization can't let Gordon dictate our season. That or trade him to Charlotte for they're 1st round pick next year as a big "F$%& you" to that guy. Plus the Bobcats suck and will be atop the lottery once again in 2014

You guys have to realize that while we have been patient in our rebuild, guys like Anthony Davis wont be getting such a cheap salary forever.

You can't build entirely through just the draft if you want to win a title. You need a couple great draft picks that you can pay cheap for a few years and add that to some great Free Agents. This draft should be our last in the lottery.

He's proposing EG for #5, not EG and #6 for #5. Basically EG for Oladipo.
