Now that I'm not in the Louisiana TV market I may have seen the Pelicans play once or twice on TV. I see AD changing that in the next season or two.

Interesting. Dan Patrick was saying today that AD is the next superstar and remarked on his lack of exposure so far and his youth. All that's about to change, IMO

Hes mvp caliber but i dont think the support is good enough to get a good enough record. Dont see them winning 50+ next year.

If healthy the Pelicans win 50+ no problem.

No the support is good enough

He's playing on a team with Holiday/Evans/Anderson/Asik

They're much better than the scrubs LBJ/Kobe had to play with at times.

Playoff appearances and constantly contending in the West will definitely get him noticed.

LeBron being over the hill will also make that easier in a few years

I'm not going to jump all over this statement because there are a lot unknowns.

Will our injured guys be back 100%?

How will Asik and AD play together?

Who will step up in the SF spot?

Other than AD and Asik, known killers on defense, can we stop people?

Will Gordon come anywhere near earning his money?

How solid will the PG position be?

So, yeah, there are questions. If those questions have a close to favorable answer, this team will do 50 games with no problem. This team has a lot of talent, we'll see if that translates to Ws.

I'm pretty confident going by reports.

Should be fine. Why couldn't they play together?

Tyreke

Holiday is one of the best on ball defenders in the NBA. Rivers has turned into a good defender as well. Tyreke was underrated on D.

Doubt it

Why worry about this when Jrue is around? Back up looks good with rivers and smith developing.

I wonder how many people nationwide have actually seen AD play more than once or twice since coming of age. If we are the only ones that get his games night in and night out besides those that have a league pass... People really have no idea what he's capable of or what's he's been doing development wise.

Very true.

The playoffs are where players make a name for themselves. Most star players start to get national attention after they show up in the playoffs. I remember Stephen Curry going from being viewed as a promising young talent to a star player virtually overnight because of the playoffs. Other NBA fans/writers will take notice when that happens. And it's gonna happen soon. He's ready to blow up in the playoffs, he just needs to get there to do it.

Man, I'm pumped for this season.

FIFY, according to last year's stats. He was also pretty bad defensively in "off-ball" situations, though.

ETA: maybe I'm bullshitting but I thought that I had read somewhere that Tyreke was very good on ball, but pretty terrible off ball. I can't find the stats to back that up though.

@LosLobos

You might be right on all points and I'm hoping you are. The point I was making is that we have accumulated a lot pieces to a puzzle and we haven't put them all together. Until all of these guys get on a court and play as a team, all we can do is envision, project and guess at what the final product will look like.

If Monty holds up his end of the deal, I think these guys are going to surprise a lot of people.

His track record leaves something to be desired. That's why i'm hesitant.

I hope he plays well(so we can trade him)
