So it's set in stone Terrence is gone and ajinca likely(I'd imagine they'd move him if possible),pels also have a 3.5 mil trade exception,so which wing would you want to go after? Here's some names that might be a good fit:

Miami: Ellington(29/ 6 mil this year and next)/Josh Richardson(rookie scale)

Indy: C.J Miles(30 / 4.5 mil this year and next)

Nyk: Justin Holiday(Late 20s/Cheap)

PHX: P.J Tucker(early 30s/fairly cheap)

CLE: Jordan Mcrae/DeAndre Liggins(both are Ennis type guys)

WSH: MT5(30/ Minimum deal)

OKC: Anthony Morrow(31/ Minimum)

MIN: Shabazz(Rookie Scale)

Feel free to add

I'm not so sure. I was talking with Teddy about potential offseason moves and his salary might be more useful in a trade than just in cleared cap space. It really depends on if they'd rather target a FA like Korver/Reddick or think they can trade the 2018 pick for a guy like Fournier.

I would love Justin Holiday, put I dont' see why NYK would just give him away, and i'm not giving up a second rounder for him just for this year.

I dont' want Morrow. I've watched him in OKC a few times this year and he is worthless. He's Kyle Korver without his talent from 3. Yeah he shoots well, but he needs space. Terrible defender.

Would really like CJ Miles but not sure why Indy would let him go.
The rest of the ones you listed i'm just meh on, and woudlnt' want to give up much of anything to get them, not even our 2nd round pick.

If there is a way to get someone young with the trade exception, and not give up anything else, and they aren't UFA this offseason, i'm all for it. Outside of that, I really don't want to trade anyone right now unless its' to shed money or get someone legit back, and I don't think we can make a trade to get someone legit back until this offseason.

Tough to find the right guy. I'd like to see us get a vet or somebody on AD/DC's timeline. Ideally a 3 and D guy. Demps has his work cut out for him.

I doubt Robert Covington is going anywhere but he is a nice piece for $2.0M and he has a team option for next season

there are basketball reasons that morrow doesnt play much with OKC. you've identified the biggest one (he cannot guard a lawn chair)

also i think shooting/ball handling is available now (at least for the rest of the season) without burning another asset whether it be a pick, the TPE or a player. quinn/chalmers/thompson are all there to be signed for the minimum into the open roster spot

if they need another roster spot, its time to cut the cord with pondexter...waive him injured, pay him out and move on. this has gone beyond what a team in the pels position can withstand, especially with the two dead roster spots at center

jones probably has value, but he also has value here. montiejunas they should hold on to and see if he's got a future role. in the meantime play casspi at least 20 minutes and let him get comfy here because tthey arent going to find better options that can afford in june at the 3. for my money the dante experiment is over (thanks dante!) and he should be encouraged to decline his option. hill and moore arent going anywhere

holiday
frazier
moore
new guard 1
new guard 2
casspi
hill
cunningham
montiejunas
davis
cousins
asik
ajinca
diallo

thats your team to finish 2017.

in june clear a roster spot by stretching asik, make a decision on DMo, replace or re-sign cunningham to a team friendly deal, and try like hell to get a mid-tier player. if adding demarcus cousins to this team doesnt result in 10 more wins just on him alone over a full season, then cut bait again

I would choose a couple of cheesy gordida crunches if it meant Asik is off the books

100% agree. It's difficult to say but he hasn't played in a long time and it doesn't seem like that knee is getting any better. Wish he was healthy. Combine that with our medical staff and I would advise Q to get out of here and get some real help.

this has been my thoughts too. I think Jones is our 3rd best front court guy behind Cousins and AD by far. Add Hill in there every once in a while at the 4 and you've got a SOLID front court rotation. I would much rather keep T Jones than trade him away (unless he will be disgruntled to stay in NOLA). Ajinca would be a good 4th/5th front court option off the bench.

if the Pels retain T Jones, DMo should be waived. They are redundant players. If Jones is traded (I hope not but it seems likely), keep DMo and he would be the first off the bench at the 4.

the other thread was extremely optimistic on Casspi. I dont think he'll ever be a starter but he deserves play time. Especially since him and Cousins are buddies and know where each other are on the floor. He can knock down shots at will and you can never have enough shooters.

unless there is a roster spot and a good contract. his biggest asset is that he's a versatile veteran player with a great attitude. he's a locker room guy

ideally, i say 1) keep one between T Jones and DMo. 2) keep one between Ajinca and Asik (again wishful thinking). 3) cut Q loose and see if you can keep Cunningham for the right price. 4) find a stop gap for the rest of this year at PG/SG/SF that will not cost much. we aren't trying to win the finals this year. 5) in the summer see how much you have left over to go after Korver/Covington/Reddick/Patty Mills/PJ Tucker/Iggy (wishful thinking)/Tim Hardaway Jr in no specific order

korver might be done
covington likely to get a nice deal in PHI
reddick way too much $
mills way too much $ (he'd be perfect tho)
tucker is likely to get traded today
iggy (no)
hardaway is intriguing

Does getting Cousins give him the coverage to just throw $2.5 million down the drain this year? Next year the insurance on QPon's deal will be $3 million. That's the kind of sweetener that might help a team forget that Ajinca is one of the players you're trading for their better player. The roster spots being wasted by non playing players is a problem, but they shouldn't burn any assets this season that they might need next season.

Yeah, there is no reason to drop Q-Pon right now to free up a roster spot. It appears that Jones will be traded at the request of his agent. He is a min guy so we can move him without taking back anyone if we want just a pick and a free roster spot.

We should trade for Stauskas.

+100000000

Asik, Tyreke, and Q-Pon
-combined $23.7 million dollars per year between these 3. Both Asik and Tyreke were averaging 15 mins/game each. Thats a lot of money for a COMBINED 13 points/game, 9 rebs/game, 4 assists/game, and 0.5 blocks/game

I know injuries abound but thats tough to look at. We still need a new medical staff

I think the problem was more signing stupid players to stupid contracts and expecting them to perform to the expectations of the stupid contracts they were given.

Etwaun Moore has probably been the only long term contract they have signed where the player is worth his salary, outside of AD. You could throw Cunningham in there.
The last contract before those that was worth it was CP3 and David West. The rest of vastly unperformed after signing with us.
