It's at the 1 top of hoops hype trade rumors this morning...soooo

I'm sure there are rumors about it, but rumors come out for typically 1 of 3 reasons.

1) A deal is going down soon
2) A team or agent is using the media to try and change the price/availability of a player
3) A dead discussion is revealed to the media. It could have been as inconsequential as a random team seeing if the Blazers would trade Lillard for player X and getting a quick no from Portland, but all the "journalist" that gets paid by the traffic he generates heard is "Lillard was discussed in trade talks".

Holiday is a better fit. Lillard is a black hole volume scorer who is perennially overrated, You either want your two top 5 front line guys to be the focal point, or you want to bring in a ball hog like lillard.

Personally I think we need a pass first point guard that's also capable of scoring, Chris Paul would be the obvious answer there but jrue is not far behind him, and both are great defenders which is an added bonus

Have you ever compared their career stats? He's not that much better Jrue offensively, he just shoots more.

I don't think we need another player that takes 20 shots a game. 2 is enough

People are extremely undervalueing Jrue and assume because he is from the West coast he is absolutely wanting out.

Nothing has happened to indicate he is not going to stay. Nothing has happened indicating the Pels are unsure if they should keep him. Everyone in the organization has mentioned him as part of the Core of this team's future.

Hey Va-jay jay............I said if Jrue wants out.

Todays trade deadline day...we are shopping and selling. I prefer McCollum myself. This is a forum to discuss the pels.

I could be bitching on here about new people buying Pels jerseys. There is excitement in the air.

oh and GFY.. just joking

I said unrealistic trades. This is one. Jrue never said anything about being out or wanting out. You think with the trade that just took place, he wants out? Be for real.

Do you really think he's that much better than Jrue?

It's not by much, if so IMO.

They're both in that 10-15 range of PGs IMO.

It's really tough to rate a guy like Lillard. Big offensive numbers but soooo bad defensively. Or at least he was, I don't think I've looked up his metrics once this season but he was basically the worst defensive PG in the league for the last couple of seasons.

We all hammered a guy a month or so a go for saying "let's play with the trade machine. Hey look, Reke/Buddy/shite for Boogie works"

Go look at their rpm and advanced stats. One is clearly a better offensive player and one is clearly a better defensive player.

If you told me we had a center like Drummond, I would be all for lillard who's a very good 1-2 punch with Davis. But the reality is we have cousins now and sometimes a 3rd punch is worse option than backing up for defense.

Great discussion here....again that is what this forum is for. Agree we were dealing all that for okafor, then dell did the "do-do" on divic for less for a star in DC. Tomorrow the crazy talk will cease....

Myself I like McCollum...

Please stop, the pelicans aren't going to make any blockbuster trades today, they're probably just going to deal away Terrence Jones and maybe a second rounder.
