Did Asik play too good of a first game and get our hopes too high for him offensively?

Asik's offense is like an NFL fullback going for the short yardage 1st/TD. If you use him sparingly you'll wonder why you don't use him more often. If you use him regularly, you'll wonder why he's on the team.

I made it up after seeing him for 3 games. I think they might start quoting it on tshirts soon.

He looked beautiful vs. Olrando and so ugly vs. Memphis.

Emotional investment in this team and years of Monty Williams wearing on your sanity does that to a man

agreed.

and Rivers caught/catches too much flack on here because the way his rookie year started. post ASB last year he showed some flashes of being a good play. Not great but definitely not as bad as some make it out. ANyone who couldn't see Rivers outplayed Roberts last year just doesn't know bball. Ya Roberts had to lead an offense excuse is there...but he also had the ball a ton more and was rarely more effective than Rivers and had infinite more chances.

The hard hedging is dumb with Davis and Asik, insane when Anderson is on the floor. Why wouldn't the defense be structured to funnel everything to a premier shot blocker and a premier interior defender?

Edit: Why use a scrambling defense when you are usually playing 3 sub 6'6" players?

I like the 3PA; they rarely feel like part of the design but at least guys are taking the open 3s now.

It seems like loosening the system for Monty just means Tyreke gets to play the PG role instead of Holiday. Nothing has really changed on that end.
