quote:I get what you are saying, but it appears that this is what is causing the argument. Maybe some like the ups and downs and enjoy the discussions of the moment rather than the longer-term view. Just a thought.
I am trying to help not persuade. Is it not exhausting going from "I think we can surprise and win 45!" To "AD got hurt again. Everything is terrible. Let's just trade him!" Maybe it isn't. Maybe you guys like that and I will leave you alone. But for those of you who don't love those ups and downs, I think the ceasing of having expectations can help you. Again, sorry for trying to help. Won't happen again

Fair enough. I couldn't imagine enjoying that. But to each their own. Again, to those who don't like that, I have offered my advice. Take it or leave it - all fine with me

I was definetely in that boat in terms of expectations for a major jump, then dissapointment when they never hit it because of injuries etc.
I was intrigued with the roster this season, and was looking forward to seeing what they would become, but with AD doing his ankle, and Etwan as well, I would be lying if I didn't say I was disappointed. Or perhaps exasperated, not completely unexpected but come on
This is not so much because of the pelicans not hitting certain points like making the playoffs, but more because from the little that I watched, it looked like the team would be more fun to watch, that they'd be hustling and working hard, and running the Gentry offense relatively effectively. Now if these injuried linger, it'll be the next freak mutation of what happened last season.
Not sure if my expectations were set too high or whatever, but even without much expectation, it'd be hard to enjoy last season in any capacity with the way the injuries piled on (except maybe Tim Frazier?).
