Has nothing to do with the game tonight but we need to get athletic and versatile going forward.

Our spot up shooters minus Anderson are Cunningham, Gee, and Douglas.

Besides AD we have no competent presence down low offense or defensively. No one we can throw an ally oop to on a fast break.

Dell should be crucified for giving Asik and Ajinca all that money to play in this system. MORTAL SIN

LETS STOP ACTING LIKE WE''RE GOING SOMEWHERE THIS YEAR AND BLOW IT UP

Start with Demps and HIRE someone with a vision.

Unfortunately we're going to let a guy who's trying to save his job make long term decisions for our franchise.

Ajinca is competent enough offensively when given minutes

I also take it you've ignored asiks solid play for the past 6 weeks.

He's been finishing around the rim at the same level he was in Houston. He's done very well with the what 3 shot attempts he's been given?

Obviously its better to have ryno/AD out there at the end of the game to close it out sometimes.

He's been productive when actually given minutes(20-29) and honestly should be in the mid 20s every game.

As do I. It's like people expect this unit to suddenly just gel one day and become a dynasty or something. The Pelicans are who they are, we don't have any underrated gems in the wings, no savvy vets to lead the team, just a superstar who gets more banged up and a bunch of highly inconsistent guys.

Move Anderson before he leaves for nothing, at least get a pick or two for him. Gordon and Evans will hopefully be gone this off-season as well and for the love of god, fire Gentry.

It blows my mind how you guys can continue to defend Asik or get mad when someone suggests blowing this team up.

This team has 3 NBA starting caliber players on it and 2 of them play the same position. This team is going absolutely nowhere with this core. It sucks but the fact is Dell fricked up big time.

Ideally we should blow it up and build around Jrue and AD. Healthy both are studs obv.

Jrue has 1 year after this one. He's fun when he's healthy, but that's not often enough

No one is here long term except Davis

The problem is that when you completely ignore the draft and the development of young players you end up with no real talent on cheap contracts. This means that there is no room to make a mistake on a contract or roster composition. We had two bargain contracts in AD and Ryno. Now that those are over, we have no flexibility to really address the roster despite Gordon coming off the books.

I am growing more and more concerned that ownership is going to let Dell convince them that this season was due to injuries and the initial adjustment to a new system. I fear Dell is going to argue to resign Anderson and trade our pick in the offseason for another player in order to bring back the same squad to hope for health.

Hopefully they end the year with a top 8 pick (maybe an extra 1st) and bring in a new GM with a real eye for talent. I pray the Pelicans realize that Dell has been given more than enough opportunity to prove himself and has failed. I am not saying his method is always wrong, but if you go that route all the stars align for it to work because there is so little room for error.

Building through trades means you must hit on almost every trade and find gems in free gaency. Building organically means you have rookie contracts and cap space. So you develop rookies and have room to sign vets. You hope for several hits such that when the vets contracts are up and they demand big money, you can trade them because you ahve talent waiting in the wings. Dell has none of that and so we need someone to come in and fix the situation.

I agree that Jrue is not untouchable in trades, nor should we avoid other guards in FA or draft because of him. However I will extend the caveat that no one is giving us anything close to real value for Jrue. His worth playing for us next year will be greater than anyone will give in a trade because of his health. Also his positional flexibility allows him to fit regardless of who we draft or acquire.

No one on our team is ever healthy. It doesn't make sense how everyone on the roster gets significant injuries season after season.

I'm talking more long term. Sure, you can "blow it up" and just keep AD and Jrue. But you are talking 2-3 years if you're lucky on a rebuild and Jrue is only here through next season.

Everything is sunshine and rainbows with him now, just remember his injuries are part of what got us here. I don't think he's someone you want to resign consider he plays in 50% of the games

Which leads to examining his worth now. Value could be at an all time him in the coming weeks since he's playing great ball
