this is going to be one of the biggest decisions the franchise makes. They basically need a home run hire and cannot afford to frick it up.

No doubt. This is their time. They can't frick it up.

Exactly. In fact, I think this is a career "make or break" for Demps.

I missed the dancing shark yesterday if you posted it. Surprising.

Lol my thoughts exactly. Did you watch the ISO joe Hawks or ISO melo Knicks? Guy lost both locker rooms as a coach. A lot of people are knocking Mark Jackson, why? He seems pretty respected amongst players and could have a huge effect of FA.

Didn't post it out of respect for Monty. The next hire may warrant a dancing shark

Not sure why anyone wants Alvin Gentry. The guy is the Cam Cameron / Wade Phillips of the NBA - great assistant, mediocre at best HC.

Yep. I'd hope they didn't fire Monty with their sights set on an Alvin Gentry type retread

Gentry has definitely rose the coat tails of being an assistant on good offensive teams over the past few seasons. I don't think that changes the fact that he was a middling coach.

He'll end up in Orlando or somewhere

I don't think he's particularly adept at Xs and Os. Not a brilliant offensive or defensive mind. He's an a-hole. Someone else can probably break it down more. I'm about to get on a flight.

Look at the Warriors this season compared to last season. They basically have the same roster. Look how much better guys like Barnes and Green are playing in Kerr's system. Their defense is also loads better this season, than last.

My top 3 candidates are:

1. John Calipari...love him or hate him, you have to admit the man can relate to this generation's players. Would absolutely take the sting out of losing Williams for Davis and Evans. Another undeniable fact is that Calipari has had some of the best defensive teams that college basketball has ever seen while at Kentucky.

2. Sean Miller...the guy has been groomed to be a head coach his entire life and has the knowledge and competitive drive to succeed. Like Calipari, to some degree, he does a great job of relating to the players. Unlike Calipari, he's more of an offensive minded coach.

3. Tom Thibodeau...proven success in the NBA is a big plus. Obviously, he's known for defense. Not really sure what his players truly think of him, but they always seem to play hard without any negative backlash....that tells me something.
