He didn't say anything earth shattering but he basically said the two things they need to get are what we've said all along.

1) higher basketball IQ. Basically said we are a dumb team

And

2) shooting.

talked about Dunn, said he would answer the IQ question but not the shooting question. Wondered if we had the patience to wait on his shooting to develop.

That's about it.

hield and valentine answers both, but the problem is their potential ceiling is not as high as someone like murray.

dunn has good IQ, but ok shooting and injury history

Murray has good shooting, but ok iq and still needs to develop

I think the Pelicans need good solid ready to play players right now.

The potential ceiling is just what it is potential. Murray might have more potential but that does not mean he will achieve it.

But then again Murray with AD does sound nice

Like I say before, listen to Amin and imagine Gentry us talking

IQ is in reference to Tyreke more than anyone

I'll admit to not watching much of Dunn but looking just at his numbers, he doesn't seem to have a high IQ.

Then again there's Russell Westbrook low IQ and Tyreje Evsns low IQ. Some of it can be masked by athleticism

Its one of the things that everyone raves about. So...I guess you have to look beyond stats?

Turnovers, and this theory I have in my mind that there aren't many high IQ guards that are poor free throw shooters.

By god every time someone says something about this team "They must be talking about the guy who only played 20 games". In case you don't know Gordon, Cole, Asik, even Jrue are not high IQ players. Guys who make dumb plays well to often. Jrue is not as bad but at the end of games he unravels and goes hero mode. Amin is a joke at this point he's trying to be more like skip. This team has never lacked shooting we need defense, passing, and IQ.

None of those players are anywhere near Evans in the low IQ department. Take off your rose colored glasses and at least be honest.

No one cares what you think. Go back to PR with the rest of your ilk.

Jrue is fine

Cole has low IQ

Asik is just clumsy

Gordon became a stagnant spot up shooter. He is what he is. It's hard to frick that up if you're hitting shots

Murray has a very high basketball IQ. It is his athleticism that is criticized. Any of those three will fit the bill when it comes to BBIQ. When you add shooting to the equation, I would think Hield and Murray would have a lead over Dunn (but you cannot ignore defense and playmaking either).

Of course not but HE DIDN'T PLAY LAST YEAR. If your assessing issues of the team based on the previous season how can you even include him. His BBAll IQ is super low but he is probably the second most talented player on the team. I'm more sick that every off season people seem to keep saying we need to improve our offense more. We don't need to be GSW with 3s to have a good offense. We need defenders bad we haven't had a good defensive season in the past 5 years. We need perimeter defender is the worse way. Dribble penetration has been a constant problem scoring hasn't. Keeping the same team AD will give us 24-27 points, Jrue 15-17, Reke 15-18, Q 8-10, and FA around 12-16. But we have huge holes defensively at the 2,3,and 5 spot.

Also I think if Hield went to the Wolves his defensive potential would be unlocked but not here. Gentry is too offensively oriented and would look more to unlock his offensive potential more.

Murray will be bad defensively but I think he can be Lillard esque offensively so it won't be as big of a problem.

Dunn gives us more of what we need IQ, passing, defense, and toughness.

The sports hangover needs to update their damn website page or start a new YouTube channel. They don't post all their new material sometimes and I've been a loyal fan of what they do. They been pushing me away with their inconsistent posting of recent episodes.

Does anyone know where I can listen to this recent interview with Amin?

Erman is supposed to be the defense whisperer.

I know but Gentry is still the head coach and it's his philosophy they will install which is offense first. Thibs will be beating Defense defense defense into those guys head.

He needs to speak louder this year. Don't think the team heard him.
