About 40 minutes in now, but you can rewind the live stream. Gentry shows up around 20:20. I'll update with quotes later.

Gentry: “I really do feel like we’ve got a good basketball team.” Expects a “totally different result” next year.

Gentry: Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday “are going to be the core of our team."

Gentry says if he has a regret, it’s that he didn’t stress pace enough to establish it early, regardless of who was hurt.

Gentry: Priorities include P&R defense, stopping dribble penetration, adding “6-7 athletic guy” who can be a facilitator.

Gentry wants Anthony Davis to have a stronger base for his post-up game. Thinks AD can get 3-point percentage into high 30s.

Gentry says he and Dell Demps are on the same page in terms of improving the team and he’s “very happy” with people he works with.

That said, Gentry says it’s not in his job description to predict whether there will be front-office changes.

Gentry on where #Pelicans are from big goals: "I don't know if you can say we're really close, or really far away" due to rampant injuries

Jim Eichenhofer ?@Jim_Eichenhofer 14m14 minutes ago
Gentry grading #Pelicans: "If you were a college student, this would be an incomplete... we weren't able to put team we wanted on the floor"

Although Anthony Davis played more center than ever in '15-16, Gentry wants AD to stay a power forward. Keeps him away from some physical Cs

I'm fine with AD shooting threes every now and then. His post game needs work. Any word on how long his knee rehab will take?

This is the most interesting thing to me. MM has brought up Grant Hill before and that sounds like what Gentry is looking for. Can Evan Turner be that kind of player? He was a PG in college. He still can't shoot but he is that size and can facilitate. If you have Evan Turner that means you shouldn't have Tyreke though right? It probably also makes Hield/Murray more desirable fits from the draft.

These sort of statements always make me wonder if something is already in the works. These players and teams and agents talk all the time. When something so specific is said, it certainly makes you think and wonder.

Evan Turner and Jared Dudley to some extent would certainly make a lot of sense as secondary FA options.

I doubt anything is in the works, but corndeaux has brought up Turner before so you have to hope the team has thought of everything we can come up with. Them being secondary FAs means you probably can have a high degree of confidence targeting them if that's your plan. Kind of like what Portland did last year. They didn't waste their time chasing guys that weren't coming, they just added youngish guys they felt were undervalued and could play/grow with Lilard/McCollum.

Well if we're top 2, he better pick Ingram. If 3rd or lower, get Murray of still available

i had to look up how old he is. it seems like he's been around forever. but he's only 30.

Evan Turner really needs to work on his 3. Dude was awful this year beyond the arc (24%)

Does he play bigger than his measurements? He's played SF most of his career but he's pretty close in combine measurements to Tyreke other than Turner having a shorter wing span.

I'm not trolling I'm trying to connect dots. It's not like this is a "should we sign Evan Turner" thread. And my comment about moving Tyreke because of Turner wasn't me saying Turner > Tyreke, it was me saying they're too redundant so if the team does plan to go after Turner it must mean they plan to move Tyreke.

No he actually plays smaller doesn't use his size well. He's a Tyreke situation but worse because you would be a bottom 5 team letting Turner run your offense but you can be a competitive team with Tyreke doing it. Turner just isn't good at the 1 or 2 the only thing he's probably better at I'd defense but that greatly due to Stevens because before the Celtics they were the same type of defenders.

Well what I get from this is they will go after Jimmy. I don't think they will get him but their GM is throwing him under the bus and saying they would look at all options regarding Butler. Either that or we will get Brown or Luwawu 2 6-7 athletic guys in the draft who shows potential of being facilitators more so with Luwawu.

Don't forget Valentine. He fits that mold too other than athletic, but he is a very good shooter.

He didn't say defender and they are hardly the only guys that fit that mold.
