do you think someone is gonna punk Morey with a poison pill? He's made few friends the last couple of years regarding that type of dealing

I have a good feeling there will be a poison pill deal, but it would make more sense to front-load it. Now Houston has Asik and Lin eating up cap space that they'd love to use on Anthony, but nobody wants to take on the poisoned year of their contracts.

Do you know how the poison pill works?

Even though the rule was aimed at protecting 2nd round picks, the poison pill "Arenas Rule" isn't tied to 2nd round picks, it's tied to players with 2 or less years in the league.

Teams are now limited in the salary they can offer in an offer sheet to a restricted free agent with one or two years in the league

LINK

Parsons has been in the league 3 years, so I believe standard RFA rules apply.

That's not how the Arenas Rule works. It specifically prohibits teams from front loading it. That's the mechanism that is supposed to help teams keep their own FAs.

You clearly do not understand that the "poison pill" doesn't apply to Chandler Parsons.

So your "good feeling" about a poison pill deal is something you pulled out of your arse.

Sorry, I'm not heavily invested in Chandler Parsons, so I really haven't looked into it. I wouldn't want the Pelicans to sign him (he'll be overpaid), so why would I?

The Rockets will probably match because their chances of opening up space for a max free agent are very slim.

Go tell all your Rockettes friends you totally boomed me. You'll get mad message board cred and e-pussy for it.

He'll probably get Batum money, which I think is around 11m per year.

He'll get more. Cap goes up. Teams have money to spend, etc.

I'm expecting 13-14

You're probably right, I don't see him getting less than Batum for sure.

Detroit is an interesting destination for him, even if they can't unload Smith.
