With AD now being a bonafide superstar, does he have the drawing power to help bring other top free agents to NOLA?

Chris Paul Couldn't. He's One of the players everyone should want to play with. Having said that our organization is in a much more stable position and I think he might have a chance. I'm just skeptical about players being able to recruit here. Lebron couldn't recruit guys to Cleveland the first go around. AD would literally have to get us to a championship or close to it to have that kind of pull imo. Hope I'm wrong though

People say stuff like this all the time but it just isn't true. LeBron went to Miami in part because he couldn't get anyone to come to Cleveland. And this was a LeBron that had already dragged one of the worst scrub teams you can imagine to the Finals. Star players help in that they make a franchise attractive, but the franchise is what attracts top FAs. Players don't want to play with other star players, they want to maximize their own money and glory.

Agreed. I don't see AD drawing anyone of significance to NOLA.

Maybe not someone from the top tier like a Durant, but I could see some really good second tier players being interested.

2nd tier is not what wins ships.

Draymond green
Andre igudola
Andrew Bogut
Harrison Barnes
Klay Thompson

Are any these guys better than 2nd tier? I say definitely no

I think AD could get his own Westbrook or Love (before he sucked) type player. I don't think he gets a Durant or Curry or Harden caliber though

Westbrook

Top tier, and was teamed up with KD based on great/lucky drafting.

Absolutely doesn't suck. Was a top 10 player before leaving Minny IMO. He had to take the sidekick role. He's still 2nd tier, fringe 1st.

Harden brought a team to the playoffs his first year in hou with a worst cast than Westbrook had this year. Okc couldn't even make the playoffs over you know who. That settles that debate.

If you were a player would you rather live in Cleveland or Nola?

The key is to get trade for a guy a franchise knows they cant keep or you will have to take major risks on guys that could live up to their contracts or never amount to it.

Depends on how many players you consider in the top tier. His versatility and his fit in GS's system puts him up there. I mean the guy did have a triple double in Finals clinching game.

Don't think he would be as effective elsewhere, so maybe him and Iggy (at this stage in his career) could be considered tier 1 role players.

List the thought of Draymond being even considered 1st tier is laughable.

Just about all of this is based on system and role. Only a handful of guys (James, Durant, etc) can be in any situation and dominate.

Draymond is very good and would be a defensive monster anywhere. But GS system and players uniquely maximize his skills on both offense and defense. He is a max player there. Not sure if he's a max player everywhere.

IMO, GS entire roster, outside of Curry, is the same way. The fit together and were deployed in a way that made them greater than the sum of their parts. But Curry is the straw that stirs the drink on that team. And he would be great anywhere.

The best the Pelicans can do is lure a 30 year old former great like Peja that only has a few good years left. They aren't getting the Durants of the world.

Why does it have to be a 30+ year old player?

Because they'd be past their prime.

You're very naive if you think that's all they can get interested.
