Guys, Simmons' reasoning for hating the trade was not because we gave up Noel, it's because we gave up Noel AND a potential lottery pick in what is expected to be a deep draft.

All of you saying "Aha, told you Bill" are coming off as extremely ignorant.

We won't know the winner of this trade for a while.

I reiterate my former post. I'll be interested to see what the criteria may be for the,uh, "winner" of the trade. But whatever they are, it's irrelevant. The Pelicans made the right move for them.

Simmons liked the deal FOR PHILLY when thought they gave up Jrue AND THEIR 2014 1st round pick for Noel

He, and everyone else can turn revisionist now if they want.

He decided really early on he was all in on whatever Philly decided to do, for whatever reason.

If you are implying that they made the move to win now, what happens if, for whatever reason, they don't win now?

Was it still the right move?

we'll know the winner in a year

if that pick is outside the top 5, then we win

You had that before in Gordon, Anderson and (assuming they were still going to sign him) Evans.

if we kept that pick, there is no reason to sign evans, and no decent FA would come here

but regardless, if we kept that pick we would not get just good enough to miss out on the shot for wiggins. that would be the worst shite ever

It was us

We won the trade

If Philly's prize is being the worst team in the league and ours is getting a 23 year old all-star, then we won the trade

Even if Noel wasn't a one-dimensional player with no size or knee cartridge, we still got a more proven player for two unknowns, one of which isn't even going to play this season, and the other that could be a late 1st rounder, which in the NBA is essentially useless

ESPN ticker is showing we got Jrue AND the 2014 pick in exchange for Nerlins. Looks like they are still confused. . . .

I'm not scrolling through the entire draft to find out, but I remember Simmons mentioning that it was an odd move for Philly because they had just wrapped up the Bynum debacle and then made a trade for Noel and his knee.

I thought he also said it was a good deal for New Orleans, until they found out that we have our pick instead of the other way around.

Our pick next year is going to be in the late teens / early 20s. We gave up a cripple and Hilton Armstrong for Jrue basically.

In what planet do the Pellies pick in the top 10 next draft? No chance in hell.

Maybe. Or we gave up Larry Sanders and Joe Dumars.

Yeah, he mentioned the the Bynum-Noel knee situation.

To then say how much you loved the trade for Philly when you thought they were giving up Holiday and a 2014 1st rounder(where i set the video to start playing) is just ludicrous.

"I like this. This was a gutty trade, I like it!" smh...

It goes to show how all over the map he's been on what New Orleans has done and why I can't take him seriously on the issue.

Then he comes back a few days ago and tries to hedge his prediction on the Pelicans because, SHOCKINGLY, Anthony Davis is good.
