Baton Rouge seems like the best option, IMO. Incredibly easy drive to NOLA when called up or sent down, which is happening more frequently nowadays, can get to the rest of the gulf south easily, and can play in the PMAC or River center

I vote Dirty Dell D-Leaguers as an early favorite

If I could have made the short drive to BR to see Diallo play a few times this year I definitely would have.

Just graduated from LSU like 8 months ago. I definitely would've gone to games to see Diallo send shots into the stands if the team played there. It would've been better than watching LSU bball

There is currently a huge hole in the southeast, but Memphis is getting a team in North Mississippi, the Hawks are moving a team to the ATL, and the Magic are getting a team near Tampa. Pensacola/Mobile make a lot of sense with these new locations.

Southaven, MS -> College Park, GA = 5.5 hours
College Park, GA -> Pensacola, FL = 5 hours
Pensacola, FL -> Lakeland, FL = 7 hours

I'm not sure what you do when you get to Lakeland. You either fly the team back or have to drive for a few days to get home. But Pensacola or Mobile makes bus travel between the 3 new locations work a lot better.

Seriously doubt they'd play in the PMAC.

Thing that concerns me though is when Hornets played there, no one showed up.

D-league/G-league isn't really about attendance though. Its all about developing players. I don't think team ownership is too concerned with the money making aspect. The players make less than teachers and travel by bus most of the time. They play to get to the NBA.

Baton Rouge shouldn't be discounted because of crowd sizes in 2005.

Everyone had a ton of shite going on after Katrina, Hornets fell through the cracks

BR would be awesome. Would love to catch a few games at the River Center when I go home to see the fam.

already an LSU bball ticket holder but i'd probably buy d-league tickets

that said, I think it makes more sense in Pensacola or Mobile

Pensacola seems like a no brainer. Expand that fanbase as far as you can across the Gulf Coast.

Probably should have name the NBA team the Gulf Coast Ballers or something similar anyways in order to increase the market. But these guys have no vision.

The uptick in fans based on the location of a d-league team will likely be negligible at best.

While Baton Rogue is good for us. I wouldn't be surprised if they went with Jackson or Mobile to expand the fan base.

A d league team will not expand a fan base.
There's like 100 people that attend d league games. The crowd isn't even equivalent to good high school teams.

The location is all about keeping expenses down.
