When it comes to listing teams capable of stealing Durant away from the franchise he's helped build into a perennial power -- and from the fiercely proud and protective state that treasures him as one of its own -- almost every list out there has Warriors at or near the top.

...The stately Spurs, league sources say, are just as intrigued as Golden State by the thought of making a run at Durant come July 1.

On the plus side, there may not be any green grass anywhere when AD's contract comes up

getting a ring is such a damn crapshoot...all i want is a good exciting team that i can be proud to support. unfortunately, the players want rings, after of course they bank their 190MM

to get to the point where a player like durant is luxury, you have to win first

Agreed. Dallas is a fine example even without the Rings. Fans enjoyed it, they were always competitive, and when they weren't they fixed it fast.

If winning a championship really was a crapshoot, we wouldn't have 43% of teams without even one ring.

The age old question: do you want championships or money? Most guys want the max money and the championships. Rarely do those two go together.

I think GSW would be stupid to pursue Durant. Team is a complete unit. Just won 73 games. Why miss up that balance and tempt the sports gods?

They are going to lose Ezeli and Barnes to over-payment. Iggy is no spring chicken and him, Livingston, Curry and Bogut's contracts are up next season.

Whether they like it or not they have some tough decisions to make and some that will be out of their control. Even the Warriors wouldn't say no to the possibility of a Curry, Klay, Durant, Green core for the next 3-4 seasons minimum.

Melo said he was very close to signing with Chicago, but he really likes money.

False. That implies even odds. Getting a ring is like betting red on roulette for like the same 4 teams every year since the league started.

OKC is imploding before our eyes due in no small part to their notoriously cheap owners reluctance to pay a lot of luxury tax for a contending team when they decided to dump Harden. OKC "built the right way" and pretty soon will have nothing to show for it.

So OKC pulled it together and ran off 3 straight vs the Spurs. Arms race averted for at least year and the West has 3 Super Powers?

If Durant visits, he shouldn't be allowed to leave.

To be fair to Crewz, I don't think anyone expected this team to be as bad as we were.

I think this time last offseason it seemed pretty crazy to think we wouldn't at a minimum get a courtesy visit when or if Durant did decide to explore other options.

Even Perkins hinted to many behind the scenes early in the year that KD would consider us this offseason. He, and everyone else in the league, thought the Pels would be MUCH better this season.

Unexpected things happen in life.

No, a 35 year old Gasol is absolutely not marquee.
