Although snow flurries are a possibility here on the Jersey Shore, beaches and boardwalks are on the horizon. Every year around this time I dust off a west coast masterpiece that brings life to the season on the other side of the country. This album should be played in its entirety the first morning that is 75 degrees plus and/or Memorial Day. What is your beach album?

You can't do much better than Studio One or Treasure Isle smokers out of Jamaica from 67-71 or so.

Duke and Coxsone made some great tunes for the beach vibe.

I don't have a beach album. I make a playlist of beach songs on Spotify.

Catching a flight to the gulf now. I'm going to give some of these suggestions a try. Of course Marley and Slightly Stoopid are great.

I have a playlist that includes Duran Duran, Sade, Bryan Ferry, Gino Vanelli, Spandau Ballet... mostly things that conjure up kind of white linen-laden old-school GQ type mental imagery. I guess it's kind of outdated but it works for me.

Salad Days is an awesome album. It gets better with each listen.
