I just stumbled upon this gem:

Dolly Parton covers REO Speedwagon's "Time for Me to Fly"

This is hilariously bad. Any other good ones out there?

Counting Crows "Big Yellow Taxi" is awful, especially with the bop bop bop in the background.

That's not even Limp Bizkit's worst cover. Jump Around is much worse.

The entire MTV Icon: Metallica show was terrible but Snoop Dogg - Sad but True was the worst part.

I know there's a lot of Layne Staley fans here but Class of 1999 - Another Brick in the Wall is just awful.

I say with no small amount of humility, that this song represents the epitome of the OP, if not the outright winner:

Mariah Carey covers Bringin' on the Heartbreak (Def Leppard)

I literally can't make it through a full minute.

if you can't handle Snoop covering Metallica, how about Limp Bizkit - Sanitarium from that same show

Yeah, with the sound turned down, it's okay.

Deadsy - Brand New Love

I had never even heard of this band before I found out they butchered one of the great Indie rock songs of the 90's from Sebadoh...

edit: for the record, the definitive cover version by Superchunk

I think Limp Bizkit is the winner of this thread. Multiple cover songs that elicit nothing but scorn and vitriol from those who choose to ponder them.
