RHCP's biggest album came out in 1992... so this would make this group 0-5 years old when it came out. I guess Californication, BTW, and Stadium Arcadium all have come out within the past 12 years so I see where you are coming from.

It's a tough question really. I'd go more with Radiohead or Foo Fighters because I feel they really hit their stride in the late 90's and 2000's.

I almost disagreed with RHCP (too old), but I think they are a good choice considering their resurgence started when I was in middle school (25 y/o here).

Personally, I'm more inclined to go with Radiohead. They just seemed to be the height artistically. But it's tough to say that because not everybody likes them.

I am 29. RHCP came to mind instantly. I personally would go with Tool.
Radiohead is in my top three, but I don't know if enough people would say that Radiohead is the band of their generation for the reason previously stated.

RHCP is prolly the anwser

Yeah, Tool's another good one. I can't think of any other bands that haven't been mentioned that might vie for the title.

AC/DC

I was 13 years old when I first heard the back In Black album in 1980. I have worn out many copies of that cassette through my teenage years. I still have a copy of the BacK In Black CD in my truck now that I will jam to every now and then.

I'm 33 and would have to say Beastie Boys. Maybe it's where I grew up, but I have not met 1 person that dislikes them . Guy or girl, and that is rare.

I would love for this to be the answer, but I feel they are under-appreciated.

I'm 21 and I believe Nickelback is, unfortunately, the band of my generation. I wish they would go back to the Silver Side Up or even The Long Road style.
