Fugazi, Drive Like Jehu, mewithoutYOU, At the Drive-In, Glassjaw, early Thursday, early Thrice, Refused, La Dispute, Snapcase.

I throw those out there, but genres are really subjective. Some people will disagree with me about some or all of those being post-hardcore. That's cool. Some other bands that are even more contentious would be bands like Circle Takes the Square, pg. 99, City of Caterpillar, Sunny Day Real Estate, Hot Cross, and Rites of Spring.

Going even further afield, you have bands like Daughters, but they're pretty grindy.

I hate all of the genres because there's really no consensus about what bands fall under what category. Half if not more of those can have viable arguments made for them being post-hardcore, classic emo, or classic screamo.

Sorry there's not more metalcore in the bands I listed, I kinda grew out of the phase. Oh, and most of these bands are pretty much out of the scene. Classic post-hardcore is a dying breed.

Best metalcore band. Ever.

Also, I'd include...
The Devil Wears Prada (screamo)
Emery (post-hardcore)
Destroy The Runner
Norma Jean
Gwen Stacy
Oh, Sleeper
Wolves At The Gate

Silverstein is always a good one

I've been into some of the harder metalcore(Parkway Drive, Elitist, The Ghost Inside) as well as the more teeny bopper metalcore(attack attack, etc)

I cant help myself. I've never felt old until I went to see Attack Attack last winter with my wife

Never go to Warped Tour.

Bunch of scene bands that are pure crap. Attack Attack, Asking Alexandria, etc.

Did get to see ABR and TDWP there, though...

I really hate this genre in general but The Black Dahlia Murder is cool and Every Time I Die are a guilty pleasure. As I Lay Dying were surprisingly good live too.

I see them differently. TDWP is harder and less electronic, and I didn't have to wade through the neon-haired junior high kids at their show. Maybe I'm still upset over the scene kid attack at Asking Alexandria.

I take technocore in very, very, VERY small doses. TDWP is truer metalcore to me.

How about Victory Records? Go listen to Design The Skyline on YouTube. I'm sure it's impossible to like them.

Someone handed me a sampler with one of their songs on it at a show one time.

I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

Also, to the OP...

This genre is kinda broad, but for more underrated bands, I just scoured my library for some that have post-hardcore influences.

Alexisonfire
Before Their Eyes
Dead Poetic
I Am Empire
Ivoryline
Secret and Whisper
Underøath (preferably their older stuff with Dallas Taylor...Taylor's new band, Maylene and The Sons of Disaster, is something special. Southern metalcore.)

The Bled were okay when I saw them open for ETID

Refused is my fave (if they are considered this genre??)
Every Time I Die = #1 hands down to me

I do agree with earlier comment on Thursday's early stuff - same could be said about Thrice (since they kinda changed their style, which I still think was pretty cool but not as much hardcore)

Absolutely not underrated, they're generally acclaimed as some of the best to ever do it. The problem is, half of these kids (GET OFF MY LAWN! ) have never heard of them and associate post-hardcore with bands like Atreyu and other crappy generic bands.
