This crazy hard. Love every song on your list, think it is a great list and it doesn't even have There Is a Light that Never Goes Out.

I'll go:

There is a Light That Never Goes Out
What Difference Does It Make?
Ask
Shelia Take a Bow
Girlfriend in a Coma

Really not sure how I don't include How Soon is Now? and This Charming Man though. And frankly (Mr. Shankly) about 20 others.

It's hard for me to pick a top 5, thougn HSIN would probably not make it...

I love the sentiment of Panic and it's still relevant to this day!

Seems like the consensus is to just play "How Soon" 5 times in a row and be done with it.

I know I'm being childish, but there are several parts where this lead singer cracks me up. I keep envisioning foreign Elvis impersonators..

Such an impossible task. Leaving off so many great songs.

1) There is a Light That Never Goes Out
2) The Queen is Dead
3) Well I Wonder
4) I Know It's Over
5) What She Said/Rubber Ring from Rank

HM: This Charming Man, Sweet and Tender Hooligan, Asleep, That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore, Back to The Old House (HoH version)

Don't know the name of it but the song on meat is murder where he says "a crack on the head is what you need for not asking" then it goes into that awesome guitar riff.

I always jumped straight from how soon is now to that song.

For bad but entertaining The Smiths karaoke, the only answer is The World Won't Listen project by Phil Collins (no, not that Phil Collins). In Bogata, Istanbul, and Jakarta, he filmed fans performing karaoke versions of their favorite tracks from the "The World Won't Listen" album. It was displayed at several art museums around the world.

My favorite is this guy singing London:
