3/4 of the music on my phone are British bands.

I'll take the US simply because we overrate the "canon" of rock music. Maybe the UK used to be better, but make a UK v. US band top 5 only using bands who released their first album in 1980 or later. That's still a good 35 years.
What British bands in the past three and half decades are all-time greats? OK, if you expand it to 1975 giving you an even 40 years, about 2/3 of the history of rock n roll, you get to add the Police and the Clash.
The US mudstomps the UK unless you're a Boomer.

We don't stand a fricking chance and I will never even pretend to act like we do. All of our bands combined could not match the creativity of the Beatles alone.

That list doesn't even include:
The Who
Cream
Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Yes
Jethro Tull
The Kinks
and the list could go on.
It's a British massacre.

It's just hyperbole, I am never one to shite on the good ole US of A. But we are lacking in the music department IMO.

So, we're just ignoring everyone before 1963? Got it.

How do you figure? The foundation of modern British music is in New Orleans/the Mississippi Delta. If not for the litany of phenomenal blues and jazz artists to come from America, modern music (British, American or otherwise) would be a shadow of what it is.

I agree with that and it's awesome, but even given that we may have invented the wheel, they perfected it, and then some.

They certainly didn't perfect jazz or blues. Not to mention, the psychedelic and counter-culture movement came from America in reaction to Vietnam/Civil Rights, etc.
Pop music, on the other hand. Yeah, I can get on board with that. The Brits got that right, for sure.

Skynyrd
Any one of RHCP/STP/White Stripes
Nirvana
Beach Boys
Any one of Elvis/Cash/Prince/Jackson/Wonder
That's all I got...though the Black Keys would probably be considered in time

Let's not forget that the Beatles had a few Motown covers on each of their first couple of albums or so. Motown isn't a traditional band, but it's still some impressive music.
The closest the Brits have to soul is the Bee Gees and that's just because they have the same monarch as the Aussies.
