This album saved me from the crap of the 1980s . I remember first hearing Sober and Prison sex thinking hell yeah these 4 guys are amazing . What say you ?

Undertow is definitely old school Tool - straight, tight, concise with no filler and no excess. A great listen straight through.

They weren't quite at their peak, songwriting, of course, but a great album from the boys (Paul was a great bassist).

Man, that's an album so powerful it went back in time and erased the bad memories in your brain. It's good but I don't know about all that.

Heard them when they were one of the first bands to play at Lalapalooza in the early 90’s. Went and bought the CD from Blockbuster the next day.

A few of those details give away my age for sure.

I’ve seen them since every tour for every new album since.

I’ve watched Danny play Pneuma over and over . This guy gets in another zone .

I think I might like their more straightforward stuff just a tar honestly. Opiate and Undertow are both great albums. I think Aenima is really that album where they suddenly just bloomed and found their sweet spot. For my money they dont have a bad album

Same. Aenima is their magnum opus, so nothing they do can every match that. Undertow would be 1st if not for that masterpiece

It's best not to pay attention to downvotes here. Specifically on the music board, there's some Anti-TOOL people that post here that hate everything they've ever done, and call them overrated. They will just downvote any Tool topic.

I can't go more than a day or so without watching it myself. I've also watched almost every single reaction video to it.

A buddy of mine got a nice settlement from a car wreck in the summer of 93. He promptly bought a bad arse home stereo with these big arse Cerwin Vega speakers. One of the CDs he got at the same time was Undertow. From the first listen, I was enthralled. Especially the track Bottom. Still one of my all time favorite albums (who am I kidding....every Tool album is one of my all time favs)

Truth. Lateralus is actually the magnum opus of all biological life on Earth.

I'm "OG T" here... Opiate EP and Undertow had me diving in head first. First time seeing them play was in Nashville at a small club with Flaming Lips and Failure. EPIC show!
