Always kinda liked Anthrax but never been a die hard fan, so we went just to see a nostalgia rock show. They were good, but Death Angel was really good. Very impressed. Anthrax was really cool but lead vocals were hard to hear. Seems like his voice was still very good but boy did he look old and worn out. Scott Ian hasn't changed since 1995. Looked and sounded great. Wish they would have done Bring the Noise. Overall fun show, but I'm curious what old school Anthrax fans thought about the show.

Any who, I hope we keep getting high end harder rock in this area. Nice niche that is rarely filled in these parts.

Excellent show by both bands. I had trouble hearing Belladonna at times too but I blame that on the sound system, not him.

Death Angel

Damn, can't believe I missed this show. Death Angel is one of the best bands around. They were always so underrated, and they're still putting out great music. Damn, can't believe I missed this show.

Can easily believe Death Angel wad was better. Anthrax's best work was with John Bush

Anthrax's two most recent albums have been really good. Other than Sound of White Noise, the other John Bush albums aren't anything special.

THIS

I celebrate their entire catalog. LOL

I thought last night was a fantastic show. Wish they would have played more of the new record.

Thank you for being someone who knows what they're talking about. I am absolutely amazed that they only played 3 songs off such a fantastic record...which they seem so determined to keep promoting, but not onstage!

Anyone there should have noticed how much the band were into it, and it was a very enthusiastic crowd as well.

It just sucked that it was only 85 minutes of Anthrax, but at least that doesn't include guitar solos, drum solos, etc...

I was right against the stage for both sets.

It's a shame that there are only two original members left in Death Angel. However, the entire band sounded great. Mark might have some of the most well-sustained vocals in thrash metal. He really did a great job hyping up the crowd and acting as a world-class showman. I was really satisfied that I got a chance to see Death Angel perform live. There are so many quality thrash bands outside of the Big 4 that fail to get their proper dues.

Anthrax was everything I had hoped for and then some. Although Scott isn't as wild and frantic on stage now as he was in his youth, he still has a remarkable presence and is one of the better rhythm guitarists in metal. Joey's voice is still unfaltering. I'm sorry some of you guys couldn't hear him all that well, but he sounded just fine from where I was standing. Then again, I was singing along to most of the songs.

Considering my only prior exposure to Anthrax in concert was a 30-minute set at Mayhem Fest that started the moment that the gates opened up, I feel like I finally got the real deal.

When they brought out the Dio painting, I was praying that they would do their cover of "Heaven and Hell". That was probably the only let down of the evening.

Great show all around. The change over between Death Angel and Anthrax was a bit lengthy, but I'd say it was well worth it considering the quality of both performances.

Thanks for the reviews. I am about to head out to Gas Monkey in a few hours for Slayer, Anthrax, & Death Angel. I got VIP so I could get close. None of my friends here have the balls to go to this show so I am heading out solo. It is sold out I am going have to get there early. I hate that this is Slayer light without Lombardo but I will take what I can get. Really excited to see Death Angel for the first time.

I was hoping to hear Suazerin, Evil Twin, For All Kings and All of Them Thieves. Some of the prior set lists had Evil Twin and at least 4 more off of FAK. Oh well.

As for the sound I moved from the floor right by Ian to the sound booth and did find that it sounded better on the floor. My experience is usually the opposite.

Regardless I've been Thraxin for 30 years and waited a long time to see them live. Great show for some old farts.

I kind of hate Bring the Noise. But I like Anthrax, glad it was a good show.
