Is this an excuse to post the Cookie Monster mashup of him singing Tom Waits? Of course it is.
I like CM's version of Hell Broke Luce better.

Can make a solid argument, but Waits is my favorite. DB close second.

Listening to FWY right now. Sounds so good on vinyl.

definitely, he is one of my all time favorites...
I have forged a couple of great friendships over long nights of his music and booze...
I am partial to Rain Dogs and that era, but all of the periods of his music deserve mention...

Loved him in Wristcutters, A Love Story. Hate his singing with all my being.

Wrist cutters is awesome, soundtrack included. If you like Tom's acting check out The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. Great movie.
As far as vocals go, I bet you are a James Taylor kind of guy.

Taylor and Waits are songwriting Yin and Yang.

He was just on Letterman. My first time hearing him. Not impressed.

My wife and I were watching Letterman and when he began singing, she thought it was a bit. I explained that this was not a comedic skit. She was not impressed either. With that said, his banter with Dave was awesome! Very funny guy.

To be fair, a live performance on Letterman is not really the best introduction to his music.
