It has always sucked, but was pretty popular when it was released.

Heard it the other day and forgot just how bad it was. The 4 "superstars" (Maya, Pink, Lil' Kim and Christina) are all B-Budget singers these days with the exception of Christina maybe. The ending where they list all of their names and do a 2 second run each is corny as hell, something out of Kids Incorporated.

Pink is hardly a "B" singer. Girl can SANG.

Also, here is the real "Lady Marmalade"... Miss Patti LaBelle.

Considering that wasn't the first time it was recorded and did very well, I'd say it's held up pretty well.

At Sea Saint recording studio in Gentilly. I remember when it was being built. It was about 3 blocks from my house. I was about 11 or 12 yrs old and hung out there often. Mr Toussaint was very friendly to this kid who seemingly was always around. My initials are carved In a stud somewhere. He let me sit and watch them recording, and I specifically remember being there for Lady Marmalade.

I saw others recording as well, but could not tell you who they were. I did meet Lee Dorsey and got an autographed poster from him. Wish I still had that.

When Paul McCartney was there to record Venus and Mars, I tried like hell to get inside, but that wasn't gonna happen.
