Phish is just a paycheck now for them. I wouldn't judge them too hard off of a random show with no other shows around it. What do you expect from a band who doesn't practice?

It's frustrating because phans know they could bring so much more. Just gotta enjoy the shows for what they are. Regardless, I will always be stoked to see Phish.

This is why I stopped traveling more than a couple hours to see them. It is what it is

I see. You really should see SCI at their own venue or a 3-day run. They add something to the show that I feel is lacking from most other artists. They are great at expressing their music along with the vibes of the crowd.

I've been to there New Years runs the last two years in Denver. shite is amaze balls. It's like Cirque De Soleil while the concert is going on. bonkers

i've only been to three phish 3.0 shows, all in charlotte. the 2011 show was a definite heater IMO; the other 2 were enjoyable but didn't really go to the next level. seems like someone (usually trey or page) always reins it in too early....yeah, it can be frustrating if you're a long-time fan. but these days, i'm in the "just happy to see them" camp, being that my schedule only allows me to go to a handful of concerts per year.

SCI, haven't seen 'em in over a decade, but i've been itching to see them for quite some time...hopefully things will line up for me & i can catch a show in the near future. to the newbie SCI fan: you want a shite-kicking show, look no further than 11-17-00 @the tabernacle in atlanta. hold off on all the other shows in your queue 'til you download this one....you can thank me later.

I completly agree. I've been a fan of phish's music for quite some time. It just really pisses me off when they give us a show like jazz fest. It was fricking embarrassing and insulting. I had been talking them up to friends for the past three months and it was a huuuge letdown. At this point they have been over-hyped by the die hard loyal phans still in denial about the bands decline. there are definitely better jam band live shows out there than phish for half the price and better seats.

:kige: :orko:

awesome set. I think you're right. First timers should check this show out first. I wish I could catch them at the georgia theater for two nights. such an awesome, intimate setting to see them in.

yeah, 11-18-00 is also a great show, but its only crime is that it happened to follow the 11-17-00 show, lol....i feel fortunate to have attended both of 'em. hell, just download 'em both...listen to 11-18 first 'cuz it's slightly more accessible, then dive into 11-17 & hold onto your hat
