George has endless hits, but as far as I know, he didn't write hardly a single one of them.

He's certainly on the short list. I saw him at bayou country superfest, the only night I went, and 20 years ago saw him in Lafayette. Hard to imagine someone with that kind of staying power. I suppose The Rolling Stones would also be on that list.

I saw him at BCSF and that was fricking awesome. George Strait is the fricking man. I'll bet the concert last night was 100x better.

George has never been a song writer. He's had the same two guys write his songs his entire career.

To me that doesn't make one lick of difference.

It means that unless he had some under the table deal (a la Col Parker w/Hill & Range) he missed out on a major revenue stream, unlike Lennon and McCartney (if we're still comparing money)

It's George frickin Strait. I'm sure he doesn't care about added revenue streams.

Fun Fact:
"All my exes live in Texas" was originally offered to George Jones.

And at least one of those sounds downright stolen. Wish I could remember the two songs.

Interesting is that he never changed record companies after signing on with MCA.

Im a George Strait fan but not on my list of all time favorites because he gets over played on the radio and has put out some real crap over the past few years.

But this song is an example of why he is one of the greatest Blue Melodies

Imo George was/is great. but Garth was somewhat unreal for what he did.
