Can't really say I've had any bad experiences. Going chronologically to the best of my memory:
-- Rick Medlocke and all of Blackfoot after show at Texas Club circa 1986. Super cool all of them. He had taken a swig from a Budweiser while on stage and handed the rest of it to me. They all signed the bottle afterward.
-- Armored Saint after they opened for Saxon at the Texas Club in '86. Was on the bus with them briefly. Had brought my Delirious Nomad album, which they all signed. Drummer Gonzo was extremely cool and seemed to genuinely love Louisiana.
-- Kevin Kinney of Drivin N Cryin circa '95. Was walking through the Jacksonville landing where I was managing an open air restaurant on the bottom floor. They had a show that night that I was going to see with a couple of friends. I called him over and he was cool enough to stop and chat. He was heading to Hooters for lunch. Asked him if they were playing Baton Rouge much at all and he looked at me and smiled and said, "Jubans".
-- All the guys from Exodus were pretty cool. Gary Holt was actually probably the least personable.
-- Met Kirk from Crowbar as he was manning the merch table before a show here in Jax in 2010. Went up to him and introduced myself as a fellow Louisiana native. He was SUPER cool!!! We talked about New Orleans shows in the 80's and determined that we were definitely in attendance at some of the same ones.
-- Page Hamilton of Helmet. Coolest and nicest guy of the bunch. Have spoken to him on three different occasions and very cool each time. A fan of LSU and Les Miles too as I found out the last time, which was just a month and a half ago. I posted that whole story here:

Met the guys from Blind Melon twice, obviously without Hoon. They were great considering how drunk I was the first time and they still took pictures with us and signed stuff. Met everyone from Kings of Leon after show in Nashville, really nice guys who hung around and talked for a bit.

Biggest arse was Toby Keith. Guy was about as cool as he looks.

Dickie Barrett from the Bosstones - snuck me and a few buddies through the back door into the old Howling Wolf in NOLA in the mid nineties. The Cardigans were in a middle of a photo shoot. Surreal.

He hung with us for awhile. Let us hit the buffet action and showed us the side door to get in venue. Super nice guy.

Yes he is.
My wife and I had a few shots and hung out with Kirk Windstein while at a show. Dude was cool and very laid back. He was also pretty blasted!

Met Tom Jones in Austin at a bar. A few good looking women came in for an autograph - thought the lawyer with us was Tom Jones They didn't know who he was, but knew he was famous.

Donald Fagen is nice in a cosmic way.

Don Brewer, Grand Funk, is fun to be around.

I didn't care much for Travis Tritt - he damn near wouldn't let his concert promoter get a photo with him. THere were only a few people backstage, and he felt compelled to have his security people make sure we weren't back stage when he came out (as if we were going to ask for an autograph as he came out).

Jerry Martini, horns guy for Sly and the Family Stone, can tell some great stories (as you can imagine).

Was waiting to board a plane from Jax to Philly at some godawful early hour. I was a frequent flyer and was in first class. When it was time to board me and a dude with long scraggly hair stepped forward at the same time. He said go ahead, and I said thanks and boarded.

He was in the row in front of me and I noticed he got special attention from the flight attendants-I figured out it was Johnny Van Zant.

When the flight landed we had to wait to deplane and chatted about life on the road just like any other business travelers would. Seemed like a nice guy.

Robert Plant, maybe 1989 or 90, he was on my flight into Dallas, ended up standing next to him at the baggage pickup, we chatted about the Texas weather, he seemed pretty easy going, picked up his own bags and walked out to the pick up area where there was a car waiting. I seemed to be one of the few people that even knew who he was.

SRV, was in a small bar in Nacogdoches TX in 1981, I went in to kill some time, he was at the bar drinking beer. He was playing there that night and had just done a sound check. He was pleasant but seemed to want to be left alone, so I moved on.

Tommy Lee is cool as hell. Gave me a bag containing an entire set of cymbals after a show last year.

The guys from Cross Canadian Ragweed were awesome.

I hung out with Kirk Windstein once. He was a super nice dude. Jimmy Bower was there too, but he was really high on something and didn't say much.

I hung out with Stanton Moore one night about 10 years ago, and he was a huge dick. He was trying to hook up with a friend of ours (really unattractive chick), but she didn't know or care who he was and wasn't interested. It was pretty funny to watch.

Partied with the guys from Scorpions when I lived in Korea. They were really great and was buying all the beer

In the early 90s, hung with all the guys from Guns and Roses minus Axl in Blacksburg when they were just partying at this sorority apartment party. They were really down to earth.

Glass Tiger, yeah, really nice...they were at a gas station while touring for Journey and we were in high school. Hooked us up with free tickets.

Busta Rhymes - a-hole...in the bathroom taking a piss and he comes in and says everyone get out he has to piss. I laughed at that shite, was going to finish my piss. But he was serious

Dave Matthews Band - all good guys who drank a bunch of Jack Daniels...used to always play my old fraternity

Jet - good fun Australians who were hanging at the center bar at the Hard Rock in Vegas post concert

Flava Flav - funny as hell, and loved gambling

Overall, always positive minus Buster..

I remembered another one,

Landed in London in 2008, didn't know till we exited the plane that Eric Johnson, his bass player and drummer had been sitting a few rows in front of us. He was more than happen to let my wife take our picture together, he was going to be playing in London several nights and offered to arrange some guest tickets for us, but we were just changing planes on the way to Ireland.

The van zants are a class act. They live right down the road from me and I see them in Winn Dixie from time to time. They are down to earth and act like normal people

Wow, my memory is pretty fuzzy on a lot of this, but . . . going way back . . .

Jerry Jeff Walker was a bit of a dick, but the Lost Gonzo Band was cool, especially Gary P. Nunn.

Allen Toussaint is an incredibly cool and nice guy.

Hung out at Charles Neville's house one afternoon. Very gracious guy.

Have met and talked to Elvis Costello. He's very bright and personable. Good dude.

Lucinda Williams is a whiny bitch at times, but can be fun.

Lyle Lovett is incredibly courteous and nice.

Johnny Winter (RIP) was amazingly down to earth and normal.

Theresa Andersson is sweet as she can be and liked my dog.

The Strokes were actually okay during their first trip to N.O. Sort of uber NYC cool, but melted away pretty easily.

Nice: dredg (Gavin can be moody), Fair to Midland, Scale the Summit, Blind Melon , Judgement Day, Emily Wells, Ontronik, Murder By Death

Not as friendly: Rob Crowe (Pinback)

I've never met him, but I have 2 friends that met John Butler on different occasions and both said he was a real pompous dick.
