Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, and Ginger Baker? It's really no contest.

Take it easy. It's just hard for a supergroup to be very super when none of the members were ever super or even relevant for that matter.

Are we talking about the same band? The Replacements, Wilco and Soul Asylum? Not relevant?

I retract my prior statement, I'll probably slap the shite out of you and your whore mother.

I need a ruling:

Not the best, but is the Backbeat Band considered a supergroup?

good one.

my pick would have to be david lee roth's eat'em and smile lineup.

Roth, Steve Vai, Billy Sheehan, and Greg Bissonette.

After the release of their '87 self titled record, whitesnake had an incredible lineup.

Coverdale, Vivian Campbell, Adrian Vandenberg, Rudy Sarzo, and Tommy Aldridge. After Campbell left, he was replaced by Vai. Warren Demartini replaced Vai.

Wilbury's are the GOAT.

Another group not mentioned so far:

SuperHeavy

Mick Jagger - Rolling Stones
Dave Stewart - Eurythmics
Joss Stone
Damien Marley - son of Bob Marley
AR Rahman - Oscar winning soundtrack writer
