low life?

I actually prefer power, corruption, lies over low life. Once Upon a Time is probably more nostalgic for me, that's why.

Depeche Mode

I like a lot of Depeche Mode's stuff, but I wouldn't be able to just put it on at anytime...It's music for rainy days and hangovers. Not party music, except "Just Can't Get Enough"

VERY underrated band.

New Gold Dream is one of my favorite albums from the 80s.

Also love Theme from Great Cities. It was sampled a lot in Electronic music.

I'm sure a lot of people would day Depeche Mode

Here. In terms of top bands of the 80s, many people would have The Smiths, Depeche Mode and New Order in their top 3 in any order and probably wouldn't be wrong.

Once upon a Time is a great album I'd select over any New Order album. But overall work, I'd go with New Order.

"Movement" by New Order is pretty timeless.

I think they're one of many one hit wonder mediocre Euro bands from the 80's and are appropriately rated and irrelevant in the grand scheme of music.
While I can't agree with the 1hw part, the rest is spot on. Pretty terrible body of work. Their stuff should have been limited to pop radio.

Well, all of Simple Minds' songs pretty much suck. Tears For Fears has at least two that don't suck.

definitely agree simple minds is under-rated. that was some good shite they were pumping out in the 80s.

I would definitely agree New Order was a better 80s band than them though. But definitely Talking Heads is #1.

New Gold Dream Album is 80's Fab.
Colours Fly and Catherine Wheel and New Gold dream are fantastic Pop tunes that fly under the radar. And what about the Epic Waterfront with its great bass line opening. BTW Simple minds had the best 12 inch extended remixes of the 80's.

Agreed. Sanctify Yourself and All The Things She Said are great.

Of '80's' bands.... I guess INXS fits that mold. I enjoy a lot of their stuff. Some of their early 90's stuff is underrated
