On March 21, 1982, Roxy Music released one of the greatest singles to come out of the 80’s

More Than This- live

More Than This Video

First single from their eighth and final studio album, “Avalon”
Written by Bryan Ferry

I could feel at the time
There was no way of knowing
Fallen leaves in the night
Who can say where they're blowing?
As free as the wind
Hopefully learning
Why the sea on the tide
Has no way of turning
More than this
You know there's nothing
More than this
Tell me one thing
More than this
Ooh there's nothing
It was fun for a while
There was no way of knowing
Like a dream in the night
Who can say where we're going?
No care in the world
Maybe I'm learning
Why the sea on the tide
Has no way of turning
More than this
You know there's nothing
More than this
Tell me one thing
More than this
No there's nothing
More than this
Nothing
More than this
More than this
Nothing

Great song

Overall Ive always wanted to like Roxy Music more.. but as effortlessly easy and great that song is, outside of a couple of other songs, I find most of their music a chore to listen to..

Beautiful song but your picture has Brian Eno (awesome musician)who was only with them for the first two albums including the brilliant For Your Pleasure with my second fav RM song Beauty Queen.

That's a nice choice of word. Chore. I do find more than a few songs great but some of it is to get through it to the next great song. However, his solo Bete Noire album is the one I can listen all the way through and it's great. It's a deep 80's sound though.

crazy how Roxy and Bryan Ferry have been around for 54 years (1970). Saw him at the Saenger in 2017 and it was a solid performance.

This is one that doesn't get nearly enough love. To me, this is just the epitome of 80s yacht rock.

Good song. Did they copy the very beginning from Blondie's Heart of Glass?

Great song, great album. Romantic and elegant, lush, layered, atmospheric, and beautifully presented to the listener. It’s an all- timer.
