When I saw the title of this thread opened it to post Bound For the Floor. Cool fact, Local H didn't have a bass player, the guitarist/vocalist had a special pickup on his guitar that would pick up and then output whatever he played a couple of octaves lower, so a "bass line" went along with his guitar.

the link explains how he installs bass pickups on his guitars. however, local h is anything but obscure as they had one of the most popular songs on 90's radio.
