That is a tough one. REM has a better catalog overall in that time period, but I have to say I like pornography is better than any REM album.

I dunno. But it sure as hell isn't U2. U2 isn't bad, it just isn't in the same category.

I saw rem at the bayou on chimes street on their first tour for 99 cents one Thursday night..what a show...they were young college kids and so was I
Saw them years later at the assembly center on campus...what a boring concert...they just stood there on stage and had videos on the giant screen...
Saw u2 in new orleans on their boy tour ..what a great small concert at ole man rivers...I've seen them at the assembly center and the superdome..always a great show..

I don't know anything about the Cure, and while I prefer REM's music I vote for U2 b/c they know people need to pay more taxes, even if they themselves move from country to country to avoid paying any

REM....I too saw them at the Bayou....didnt know who they were but a friend said we should go. Saw them at The Saenger a few years later U2 would be #2 and the Cure 3....didnt get into the cure as much as other people.
