I think they are expensive. Most are. All those crappy bands are the same unless you fork over the big bucks and get a really good one. Just find one that will play the music you want at the best price point.

Phat Hat isn't your typical Wedding band. Almost all of those guys are accomplished musicians. They are "expensive" because there are a lot of band members.
They have the best sounding PA I've heard as well.
If you have the money, they are the best band for having fun at a Wedding. I've seen them play 10-15 times.
And no, I'm not in the band.

I've seen them at nice weddings, at plantations and such, and they played at my wife's company Christmas party this year at the Louisiana state museum. Great band. I'll try to remember to ask my wife how much they paid them for their party.
