Black.
It's like Stairway to Heaven in that it is cliche. I have to be in the mood to hear it now, but it is greatness. And the MTV Unplugged version of it when I was about 19 years old was mind blowing for me.
Their best cover IMO is Masters of War. The version on YouTube where he is singing with Mike and GE Smith playing at a Bob Dylan anniversary thing is amazing. All that anger and emotion? It was 1992, what did he have to be that pissed about to draw from?

This one gets a lot of love on here. Pretty much all of their depressing ones are greatness.
Even the new ones from Backspacer. The End and Just Breathe. Those are two AWESOME songs written by a guy who is well past his prime and his point of pop relevance. If Justin Timberlake could fingerpick and wrote that a song like that it would be massive. But a man pushing 50 (at the time) writes it? Not so much.
I love Seattle music and always feel so damned lucky that from all the great bands, pearl jam was the horse I picked. They never broke up and nobody OD'd and died. Sadly it took an OD to form the band.

Loved Ten as a kid. Can't even listen to it now. But still like some of their other stuff.
