As far Lightning Bolt is concerned, some of it has too much of a country feel to it. I just do not like country creeping into my music. I agree the Eddie's voice is still incredible and Mike's guitar riffs are sweet in spots, but overall it is going to take some getting used to if it even manages to stay in my rotation.

I liked this one on first listed.
Haven't felt that way about a PJ record since "riot act".
Huge PJ fan and I didn't care for the last one at all. This one is definitely much better.

After a week of listening, I really like the entire album. Sure some songs are better than others, but I don't think there are any "clunkers".
I've learned/am learning to appreciate the music for what it is now as opposed to what it was or what I think it should be/sound like. I've found this approach has let me enjoy newer stuff from my favorite bands instead of constantly comparing (eg Sirens=Black or Mind Your Manners = Spin the Black Circle). This approach is not fair to the listener, band or the music. Appreciate it for what it is, not what you thing it should be.

Talk about. I hear 80s bands on classic rock, when I'm expecting bands from the early 60s to the late 70s.

Into the wild is freaking brilliant

Nah man...just trying to have a conversation. Sorry I didn't blindly agree with you. But go ahead and be a dick if it makes you feel good.

Guys, Zeppelin was being called classic rock in the late '80's. I don't think it's a stretch at all to call Pearl Jam classic rock now, when they are much further along now than Zep was in the late '80's.

Only listened to it once and didn't care for it much after that. Best song they've done recently is ''The Fixer''

have never liked Pearl Jam and this album doesn't change my mind

Big Pearl Jam fan here. LB is definitely their best album since Yield/Binaural. With Yield being my favorite album of any band. Loving nearly every track especially Getaway, Infallible, Pendulum, & Yellow Moon. Not really a weak track on the album.

I'm a big Pearl Jam fan. Actually they're my favorite band.
Lightning Bolt is pretty solid. If you listened to and liked Backspacer like I did this album is fairly easy to listen to.

Pearl is my favorite band. Heard Sirius station use the term 2nd wave of classic rock. Pearl Jam and all Seattle music fits this bill from that era.
Backspacer had some clunkers but The End and Just Breathe are awesome songs. Sirens sounds good. Mind Your Manners will not grow on me.

Big PJ fan. Streamed LB last week. I'm kind of mixed on it. Some of the songs are too slow, and the country influence on a couple really caught me by surprise. Better than Backspacer, not sure it's better than Avacado.

I liked Pearl Jam when I was younger, but it just didn't age well with me and I just kinda got tired of them after a while. But, Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town is a fine song and one of my favs of all-time.

Yes. Bands in the 60's and 70's weren't "classic" when they were in their "hey day". It wasn't until those bands stood the test of time and maintained relevancy to become classic. At least 20-30 years. Bands who have maintained popularity and whose music is still highly regarded will become classic over time. Pearl Jam amongst others are on this path.
Exactly. And Ten was released more than 20 years ago, FWIW.
