Me too. I hear a little Year Zero in it too. I'm grappling with the meaning. Politics? Drugs? Religion?

I used to be a huge Reznor fan, absolutely loved PHM and Downward Spiral but only a casual fan of Fragile and nothing really since so it's tough for me to get my hopes up. Saw him live 3 times, including once with David Bowie. I'll check out the new single and hope that it's have as good to me as those albums were. I still think his performance at Woodstock in the 90's was one of the best live performances I've ever seen.

No offense, but how in the hell does that remind you of Pretty Hate Machine? It's nothing like it. It's 'poppy' like The Fragile was. At least that's how it sounds to me.

I couldn't get into the last one he released. Will always buy his stuff though, so will definitely be giving this a go.

Late to this but holy shite "Less Than" is an amazing track. The whole album is great.
According to "The Background World" lyrical content it seems like this 3 EP Project is going to end up being the "Bleedthrough" concept album he scrapped for the more song oriented "With Teeth"
Cannot wait.

Agreed, and I love, love This isn't the place. It has a definite Radiohead feel to it in a good way.
Interesting because Reznor was quoted saying he loves what they have been doing while staying out of the public eye as he himself has been saturated in the media lately.

This is the best thing he's put out since the fragile IMO. Though I still dig With Teeth and Year Zero, but The Slip and Hesitation Marks were just kinda meh.

Less Than IS the Poppy "NIN" song.
He has one of those per album, HLAH, Wish, Closer, Into the Void, Hand That Feeds, Survivalism, Discipline, Came Back Haunted, Less Than.
They all follow the same pattern, they are obviously written as the NIN pop song of the album.

I like the addition of Atticus Ross to the band. Loved what Reznor/Ross did with Social Network, Girl w/Tattoo, Gone Girl soundtracks.
