It's pretty awesome. Gary Clark, Jr is playing one of the parties I'm working. TV on the Radio, too. Come visit!

Well, we've been getting a lot of rain but the lakes are still super low...I'll definitely join you nerds for a float, though.

MB, that's the one! I'm just happy that happens to be my day off because I really wanted to see those shows and HITW is kind of off the SX beaten path so maybe it won't be quite so crazy crowded.

I like the Restoration path ..... Someone else mentioned Central City, but the connotations aren't great with it.

Clio being a muse in Greek mythology and all - Id bet you could find some cool phrasings for a name related... Heck, isn't she normally featured holding some sort of trumpet/horn?

Can't believe I missed that you're working on a Nola show...guess it was pretty late when I posted last night

I'll be there at the Clio spot that night without a doubt...Sundays are tougher so might not make the BR show if it works out that way

I'm no good with names for places (trust me), but I'll throw my hat in the ring. Having seen shows there, I like The Bridge Listening Room or (to go along with your M&W idea) Music & Lyrics. If you want to go the mythological route, maybe The Muse.

That room is special because you know those who go there aren't going to sit and chat all night; the focus is on the artist and guys like Moreland and Cory Branan are perfect for that type of setting.

very nice point ... thanks. Should be up and running soon .... the paperwork is a task with the city, but obviously the building has held the licenses so it's a matter of time and money. finally getting past the bad partner routine i have been in. Now if i can only get a project in NOLA to be more hands on. And thanks for the input regarding names.

I'm anti - any "Music Hall" or "Listening Room". Just call it Clio. It's clean and sounds like a place I'd like to play and /or see someone play.

Got the e-mail tonight that anyone who contributed to the PledgeMusic campaign can download the full High on Tulsa Heat record two weeks early...

Just made it through the first spin and it's pretty damn good. Maybe not on the overall level of In The Throes since that record is just incredible, but this one stands tremendously well on its own.

Cherokee has long been a live staple, but the album version is given the proper treatment. American Flags stands out as well after my first listen. This record has its share of sweet signature downers like Cleveland County Blues and You Don't Care Enough For Me To Cry, which John does better than just about anyone these days. And the title track closer ends the record on a positive note that is a nice change of pace, and one of the best tracks with a great groove.

The BEATnik show is now official on the website...Tuesday June 2nd, so thanks to JW for nailing that down. Looking forward to very few shows this spring/summer more than that one.

Mud & Water would only boost credibility in NOLA. Also, gives you a good press back story and fits well for a location under the CCC bridge.
