Right there with you. When people ask me what kinda music I like, I usually say "I like a little bit of everything". It lets them know I'm not content merely scratching the surface of popular music; I like to entrench myself in a multitude of obscure sub genres and avant-garde artists like Adam Lambert and Blake Shelolton.

Somewhat agree but for decided differing reasons. There are no more classics. Country never has them, thus no station to perpetuate any of it. Truthfully I believe country does have a classic grouping but the re- defining of country has led to mostly confusion. It may take years to realize (and a more musical generation) that there are some timeless beauts. But in the meantime, the next pickup truck, x'es and dogs songs are highly predictable with nothing to discern one from the other. Carry (no pun intended) on talent show idol winners and runner-ups. The sky's the unlimited melodic bore that is the genre.

Blake Shelton isn't qualified to teach music to down syndrome cats.

Great recommendation, I checked them out and they seem to be top flight.

Ya I saw them for the first time about two years ago during jazzfest and have tried to catch them when I can ever since.

Check out Tauk as well. Very different than the souls, but also a good young band starting to make the rounds.

Actually, country does have a station. It's called WSM650 AM. It's what made the Opry and country music famous and it's still doing it. They play the live Opry show along with the good new country and classics. It's the only country station I listen to. Check it out, they have an internet app.

Just give him some guidance. Throw out some good recent bands or up and comers

This young lady isn't looking for guidance, just wants to complain. It's the most worthless kind of comment, "Everything sucks and I don't want to look for something that doesn't suck because I won't find anything that doesn't suck because everything sucks."

Thanks, will check that out. Stations in Charlotte only play recent releases. Maybe around holidays an oldie will play - like military themed at Memorial Day.

Well, Adam can actually sing. I like Shelton too.

I won't deny that Adam Lambert is a talented singer, but his songs are not good and Blake Shelton is steaming cat shite awful.

Personally, I don't think it's music that is bad, its the radio.
