I really don't listen to any new artist or what's new anymore. I usually just troll youtube for the classics and songs that aren't on autotune.
I love all kinds of music, but if I had to go with the best music today it would be country and even that is starting to sucks because now country artist are using autotune and trying to sound rock and roll.
The only new artist I really listen to anymore is Adam Lambert, his vocal range is crazy good and he can sing anything. I love what he is doing with Queen too. I can't wait for his 3rd album because each song and album he puts out is so different and that boy doesn't use autotune. I could care less if he is gay or not.
I like Blake shelton too, but now even Blake's songs are starting to sound all the same and I hate that. Country music has changed so much and I like some newer songs, but for the most part I could give a frick less about any style of music that is out there today. Bring me back the classics.
I think today's music is an abomination in the worst kind in all genre's. Like I said there are a few new tracks that come out from time to time I like, but I watched the Grammy's last year and hardly new any of the talent that performed on the show.

you enjoy listening to adam lambert and you're bitching about music "ain't what it used to be"?

Well, Adam can actually sing. I like Shelton too.

How do you find new music? You should try pandora or something similar and listen to the channel of an artist you like to see if you can find similar artists to branch out a bit. there's a lot out there. in fact there's so much out there now, it makes it more difficult to find new stuff at times because it's overwhelming.

I can't even respond to this thread...

Just give him some guidance. Throw out some good recent bands or up and comers

I do go to pandora a lot. I have an eclectic taste. I like some newer stuff, but I hate all the autotune.

Checkout Sturgill Simpson. New classic country

so stay away from what you dislike and stick to what works. if you have an eclectic taste, then it won't be too hard to find some newer artists. for instance, through this board i recently found stugill simpson. great modern country artist that sounds old school. and i'm not even a big country fan.

Right there with you. When people ask me what kinda music I like, I usually say "I like a little bit of everything". It lets them know I'm not content merely scratching the surface of popular music; I like to entrench myself in a multitude of obscure sub genres and avant-garde artists like Adam Lambert and Blake Shelolton.

There's tons of great music out there. It's not as immediate as turning on the radio, but the radio is on its way out. Put out a little effort and you will find a new favorite artist.
