Good call. I think her trademark was being a "powerful" and emotional singer. On that note, wouldn't a lot of gospel type singers fit well into this category? Something like Aretha Franklin? I haven't really listened to any of her music as far as I remember, but it seems like that's a reputation that I have picked up on.
