What was the crowd size? Louisiana is seriously lacking an amphitheater. I think Mandeville or Covington would be perfect. Lots of room and still in the NOLA metro.

I'd say probably between 1,000-1,500 people. The amphitheater on the grounds had a lake in the background of the stage but it could only hold about 400 individuals.

Well, that was the largest group of hipsters I have seen together

Agreed. I went mainly b/c of Wade Bowen. The crowd was almost dead during his set.

Got through the gate after the TSA search bs, but the bathroom situation and the bar or lack of bar supplies was horrible.

Venue was cool, but the set-up/planning needs some work if they plan on doing this type of event again

Agreed. I felt bad for him. That crowd was lame until the Avett Brothers came on. And yes, the bathroom and bar situation was absolutely horrible. Needs some work like you said, but I would love to see them have this again next year.

Would also like to see another event there. Maybe on a Saturday and after they correct the other issues

Didn't anybody else hit up the buffet? I didn't want to at first, but the lines to the food trucks were ridiculous. It was pretty good. The line for the bar there wasn't too bad. And there were bathrooms.

I had a great time. But I showed up late and didn't experience any security pat down issues. Took me only a couple minutes to get through the gate.

Same here. Me and ms. Lcr walked right in. Friends on the other hand, were body searched.

Didn't hit up the buffet. Didn't really think about it honestly. If they have this next year, we ought to meet up before hand and drink some "craft" beer. My parents live in St. Francisville so it's only like a 5 minute drive to Hemingbough.

Sounds like a plan!

It'll depend on who they bring in next year. I'm not big on modern country and was really only there to see the Avett Brothers. Hopefully they maintain a somewhat eclectic lineup.

Somehow, when I think modern country I do NOT think Wade Bowen. He is one of my favorites and extremely underrated, but Nashville "modern" he is not. He's the real deal.

True. I didn't quite mean it like that. I just meant their are some older country artists who I really enjoy, like Willie Nelson, or the real Hank Williams.

I tried to get into Wade's stuff for the sake of making the festival more worthwhile, but I just couldn't.
