EDIT: I’ve amended the question to which lady of the 80’s do you prefer? Which one did you like better overall?

Alot may not remember, but Madonna in her heyday was extremely popular. I won't say T-Swift level, but she was more of a household name than Cyndi Lauper. I'd say it has to be her.

It would have to be CL. Madonna's vag has had more traffic than the entire interstate highway system.

Its Madonna and its not even close. You could make a better case for Paula Abdul as number 2 then Cyndi Lauper.

Brosef, how so? I think Cyndi Lauper’s hits are more enduring to the 80’s nostalgia… plus Goonies.

Madonna

made it okay for female pop singers to be sexy/trashy and sing about forbidden topics. sex, religion, teen pregnancy.. etc

Cyndi

I just liked her songs better.

made it okay to be weird/different

Neither woujld have been nearly as popular without MTV.

Madonna had five #1 hits all on the True Blue album, not even counting her other songs that made it to #1 or close to it from other albums. Cyndi Lauper had two #1's through her entire career.

I can't stand her as a person, but this is not even debatable. Cindy Lauper was a blip in comparison.

Paula Abdul had all the intangibles. I think she got more over to a younger audience than Cyndi Lauper. She was known for her dance moves, did a big tour with NKOTB, had Keanu Reeves in a video, plus the rapping cartoon cat of course. She also dated Arsenio Hall which kept her name in all the tabloids. Plus I think she had more hits than Cyndi Lauper but some of those were in the 90s.

...And the inaugural Wrestle Mania, alongside 80s icons Hulk Hogan and Mr. T.

Cyndi Lauper may be the most 80s woman to have ever lived.

I think that, in the mid-80s, Madonna was as popular as Taylor Swift is today. Madonna videos were in constant rotation on MTV and every 13-year-old girl in 1985 dressed like she was in a Madonna lookalike contest. Or, maybe at 51 years old, I just don't notice pop culture like I did back then...

Easily. She was a phenomenon like Michael Jackson and Prince.

Obviously, Madonna was the bigger star in her hey day... and Ive liked songs over her career..

I definitely prefer Cyndi Lauper's music... She's So Unusual is a great 80's pop record that still holds up, even with the 80s production.. The two choices in covers alone are fantastic (Money Changes Everything and When You Were Mine)

Not if you visit the OT. It never disappoints (sorta )

Today's special on the menu:

re: Would you sleep with a 61 yr old woman ?

They've one-upped the ante to 70, then 80 year olds.
