Are you a fan? I've been listening to their album a lot lately...forgot how truly brilliant it was.

I thought it was pretty boring. There were two or three decent songs on it though.

Loved Above. It's definitely one of the better supergroup collaborations out there. The sound and style is immensely diverse given the grunge label applied to each musician.

Especially when compared to Temple of the Dog.

I seem to find myself gravitating back to it every few months.

The only reason why I would side with Temple of the Dog is because Chris Cornell's vocal range is far superior to Layne Staley.

I've always put Mad Season way above Temple of the Dog. Above is one of the very best albums of the era. It will forever stay on whatever I'm storing my daily music on. 'X-Ray Mind' in particular is one of my favorite songs by any artist at any time.

Though from the same era, its difficult to compare the two. Mad Season, to me, was something no one could imagine at the time. It was the opposite of anything each musician had ever done. FWIW...Layne Staley made Mad Season what it was.

On my end, it was more at the way the whole band gelled. McCready blew my mind. I had no idea he was that good.

Anyone who says they like Mad Season more than AIC is trying too hard.

I don't see anyone doing so in this topic.

No, they're not, I agree. I do know people who claim this, though, and I think they've been affected by "The River of Deceit" 1,000 times too much. A friend of mine and I would go out on the town 8-10 years ago and he'd fill up the jukebox with Mad Season and not play and AIC and claimed "Artificial Red" was the best song ever produced by any AIC lovers. He also liked Jerry Cantrell's Boggy Depot a bit much.

The River of Deceit is my least favorite song on the album.

AIC has way too much more of a catalog for it to be even a comparison, and they're in my personal top five most love acts. But for a one off supergroup, Mad Season is my personal favorite.

That's why no one said it...you're overreaching... no one would ever make that claim...

I've been hooked on Cantrell's Degradation Trip for quite a while. I think it is much better than the last 2 AIC releases.
