I've always been a fan of both versions of this song.

Jimi's vocals are damn near perfect, but Stevie Ray's instrumental is probably the better guitar play.

has anyone ever combined these two versions?
as in put Jimi's vocals over the SRV instrumentals?

i half arse searched around on google and didn't have any luck.

SRV version is better. But had Jimi lived another decade what could he have done to the song with 1980-81 equipment and recording?

You need to make a Little Wing CD like I did years ago, with Jimi, SRV, Sting, Concrete Blonde, Skid Row, Def Leppard, The Corrs, John Mayer, Derek & The Dominos, Gun Club, Santana.

While not original, SRV has the greatest guitar tone i've ever heard.
