Had football on mute most of the day watching Lemmy documentaries. If not for him there is probably no Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax etc. He was just a bad motherfricker that played his last show 17 days before cancer took him.

I was never really a fan, but it can't be denied how many people were and how many he influenced. Guess it was just the speed that Motörhead played that gave everybody else the green light to play that fast.
Watched some documentary where he is talking with Billy Bob Thornton (made me dislike Billy). Lenny seemed to be a true music nerd and wants to talk music in a bar with Thornton, Thornton just ignores him? Maybe it was bad editing and the rest of the conversation was mutual? Maybe Billy Bob was checking out some piece of arse he was gonna try to bang? Was just weird. If you like Lemmy well enough to do a documentary with him, you'd think you'd be ready to talk music with him. Especially after he'd had a few Jack and Cokes in him?
Like I said, I was never a big fan, but I'd sure as hell listen to whatever story that dude wanted to tell me. Lol

Last saw him 2 years ago this weekend at Riot Fest... I knew if was probably the last time I'd ever get to see him again... Legend... Motorhead was one of those bands that had crossover appeal to both punk and metal fans...

Motorhead opened up for Foo Fighters in 2011 in Little Rock. I've never heard anything that loud.

A douche of the first order, compared his garbage music to Tom Petty. I wish Lemme would have whipped his arse.

The most mind-blowing thing about Lemmy to me is, and will always be, that he was in Hawkwind. I love both Hawkwind and Motorhead, but it is difficult to imagine a band that fits less with Lemmy's image than Hawkwind.

You shut your mouth about Tom Petty

Lemmy was the engine for Hawkwind.
Motorhead is one of my Top 3 favorite bands.

At an outdoor venue, you could move to the back and actually tell what songs they were playing. Indoors, it was just a wall of deafening white noise.

Motorhead is probably the band I most regret not getting to see live. I was going to see them their last year in Houston, but that was one of the shows they pulled out of.

Looked to me like he was saying Thornton himself compared his own music to Petty's.
